Both connections to Media Portal and the Database (SQL Server 2005) are ok. I have also managed to connect to the stream through VLC media player with no problems, so the stream, and connections seem to be ok, but from inside Media Portal Client, I only get a blank screen for 2 secs, before it reverts back to the guide.
