Description:
If system resumes from standby and "EPG grabbing while idle" is active TVServer becomes unresponsive. When trying to start TV MP hangs and I need to restart MP and TVServer.

Test plan:
1) Start TVServer setup
- on general settings --> EPG: enable "EPG grabbing while idle"
- goto manual control and refresh EPG to force new grabbing
2) Start MP
- check if TV is running --> ok
- stop tv and set system into standby from MP home screen
3) Resume system
- check TV --> MP hangs completly and needs to be killed
4) Start TVServer setup
- goto manual control and stop service --> setup hangs, TVServer and setup needs to be killed

What I have already tried according to forum:
- disabled on of the DVB-S cards
- disabled grabbing for one card
- disabled disk managment
- enabled "prevent system from standby when grabbing" in EPG settings
--> no effects

My system is running really stable with RC1 without EPG grabbing and I am not able to identify anything strange in my logs.
Can anybody confirm the behaviour?
Could it be related to the usage of two DVB-S cards?

Hope somebody can help.

I have simillar problem with my system. It started only with RC1 install (I didn't try first svn). Previously it didn't happen at all. I am still to try new svn which is due this Friday.
I have only one dvb-s card and one dvb-t in my system. The dvb-s card is not scanned, so I have no channels yet assigned to it.
I will try to change Grab EPG while idle option and see if this makes any difference.

I added log files in case someone wants to have alook at the issue.
I have to add that the problem doesn't happen every time, it might be related to the network connection loss while in standby, even though I don't see how it's possible. It seems it happens every time if I had my network router shutdown while MP is in standby mode. Can it affect the TV server?

Hi fromaron

Did unchecking EPG grabbing helped to make TVServer stable?
The problem with TVServer freezing after resuming still exists for me with the newest SVN. Again the system is rock solid without EPG grabber. I found a script in the forum to completly kill TVServer during wake-up and restart it. I will give it a try.

Of course I already did this morning ;)
I still have the same issue. TVServer hangs after wake-up. You can also find the tvserver log after starting setup and trying to stop the server just before it hangs.

    Try for elimination.

    Dissable all extra plugins.

    Run just the TVServer.

Try hibernation instead of standby .

Start at a basic level and add plugins to see what if any difference it makes.

Did some futher testing. It seems that tvserver is running stable after wake up with the new TSWriter, but only if I check the "reinitialze service" flag in power scheduler. I have to execute some more tests during the week.

Also under general make sure you have a delay set before TVServer looks for cards (mines 20 secs), especially if firewire or usb tv cards.

Glad to hear you have got it at least working, now get it reliable.

I tried today to check Initialise TVServer on startup option. All the rest was left as before, old Tswriter and EPG grabbing.
Tested it only once so far. It works, will see how it behaves over few days.
