can someone tell me what the above quote actually requires, thought i'd have a go at upgrading to 1.9 but am getting some memory errors when closing MP and think they may be .net4 related.

That line only refers to Windows 8/8.1. You need to install the FULL client installer AND need to enable the .NET 3.5 features.

According to your systems specs you are using Windows XP, so the above doesn't apply for you.

ah cheers mate, thought i had read it wrong , but have now run out of time as to the upgrade, bit of a disaster not like my previous upgrades which usually go smooth as silk
