    Does anyone else experience this

    (I am using 1920x1080)

I've been trying to find the overlayed image that causes this so i can edit it.

    tvseries.jpg

ok i found the culprit file(s)

To change my tv series episode thumbnails, put the attached .png file in the \skin\streamedmp\media directory

If you want to remove the shadow from my tv recordings thumbnails
    then goto the \skin\streamedmp\media directory
find glassoverlay.png and glassoverlay2.png and rename them to .png.bak

yes your right it is a glass effect, but personally i dont like it and i dont think it makes it look like glass.
anyways, if any users also don't like it, they now have the option to remove it.

I dont like it either, but I use the 'Default' style which in my opinion is more polished than the fanart version. Have you tried that, or do you prefer maximum space for Fanart instead.

didn't know that the default view didn't have the glass effect (which i don't think looks like glass at all!)
I prefer max fanart, i have also replaced the blade image to max fanart on main screen
