Hello,

I have a serial UIR Remote, i just want to know if there is a plan to implement a native MP Serial driver in a near future ? (to avoid girder or anything else)

If not i may help you a bit as i know a few C# and have coded a little app that set up and understand my serial receiver

Let me know

I've patched MP to be useable with my remote controller, if you wish i can give you an url to download the config/mp.exe files patched if you want to test it

But as i don't know your ati remote serial protocol it may not work

well, in Girder I use a plugin called
URI/IRman/IRA7CTInfra/hollywood+
I don´t know if that means the protocoll is the same but I´ll sure try it if you got a patch for me!
and it´s not a ATI remote, it´s a Realmagic Hollywood+ remote :)

Here you can find my patched Media Portal :

http://perso.wanadoo.fr/freqresplot/MediaPortalSerialIR.zip

Do a backup of you program files/team media/mediaportal directory, then extract zip file and overwrite existing files with my patched version.

Run the configuration, there is a new entry "SerialUIR", select you COM port, activate check box, and click learn, press buttons on your remote until learn complete.

now you can use your serial remote with mediaportal.

working fine for me with my UIR device.

Let me know if it works / buggy i'll try to fix it before uploading sources to source forge (i don't want to post a weaked code...)

wellwelll, I almost got my hopes up :)

Could you be more precise, may be i can find a way to make it work ?

At which step are you blocked ?

Is "Port com available" ?
Is the check box enabled up left ?
Is Learning working ?

It´s the learning part that´s not working..
But I´ve checked in the girder plugin, in the plugin settings you have to select "hollywood+" so the protocolls probably differ a bit. :(

Is there some information you need my remote that I can supply you with?
