Haupaugge NOVA-T is also dual DVB-T on PCI, can do 4 streams from that card at once. :)

Still looking for a dual PCI or PCI-e dual DVB-S card that can 4 streams, anyone using one?

Don't you mean, it allows all streams on a single transponder with TVServer to be active, ie record\watch.

    All dvb cards allow this.

If you're considering the 7010i I suggest you buy soon as they appear to be discontinuing them and they are getting harder to get hold of as time goes on. Play.com no longer have stock and Scan.co.uk have put up the price slightly.

Pinnacle 7010i at Scan Computers UK
I spoke to a friend that works in customer support for Scan. He isn't aware of the 7010i being discontinued, in fact it is a very new line item for them so he was quite surprised when I asked. He did suggest an alternative reason for them getting harder to source: Pinnacle could be having production issues.

He couldn't give me any information on re-order times from their supplier as they were well above their re-order threshold at the time, and as their purchasing systems are quite automated, he wasn't able to check easily.

The 'discontinuing' theory came out of the fact that it is now a relatively old card that is no longer available from many retailers that had sold them in the past. The fact that Pinnacle appear to provide very little support for the card also hinted that it might be on the way out but obviously if Scan are looking to get more then that theory goes out the window.

That's great news for anyone looking to pick one up. :)

The information I got from my friend wasn't definitive, just what he could tell me.

So the rumour could well turn out to be right, he would just be surprised because it is a relatively new item for them.

I guess we shall see in the fullness of time :)

Considering the price of the 7010, just cannot see how pinnacle have done it, price wise.

Just never been a cheap brand, remember buying pinnacle 9 with the breakout box\video card for editing out home movies, geez no change from £200 for that.

Even when i got the T500 it was £58 against the pinnacle dual dvb-t was £65 (did not know the main difference at time), so how scan are selling the 7010 for £38 is bloody amazing in anyones book.

Sorry to pipe into an old thread, but it still seems kind relevant.

I am a complete novice when it comes to HTPC and MP.

I've got a Compro Videomate S350 (yes, budget I know) and it works fine with MP. I've managed to scan over 350 channels, and have sorted out the "BBC/ITV freesat" ones, so I have BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Channel 4, More4, E4, Film4 plus a load of other garbage I need to delete.

However, just before I do delete the rest (including all the odd Unknowns and Streams) I wanna check that I can't yet get any Channel Five channels (Five, FiveUS, Fiver etc) FTA? From what I have read here, they are currently still scrambled but will be available some time later this year via BBC/ITV freesat. Is this true.

    Thanks and kind regards.

Oh, and if anyone wants to tell me how I can re-arrange my TV Guide, so certain channels appear first, that'd be great. I tried moving them around in the TV Channels tab of TV Server Configuration, but it had no effect....

That's correct, they aren't available FTA at the moment but Five and possibly FiveUS and Fiver will be available in the future.

This can be done using 'TV groups' in the TV Server config. Not sure if TV Server defaults to having a group called 'All Channels' or whether I created that myself, long time since I set channels up!

If there isn't one there, create it and add all of your channels to it. Rearranging the channels in this group should then rearrange them in the guide within MediaPortal. You can create multiple groups (for example by genre: Movies, News, Sport etc.) and change between them within MediaPortal but that's taking things a step further. ;)
