    Hi Guys,

I have both satellite and terrestrial tuner cards, for Freesat and Freeview. To give a bit more choice I have in my "Favourites" channel grouping the regional BBC stations such as BBC Scotland, BBC Wales etc in addition to my own BBC North West (England) region. There are different films and TV series shown on these from my regional one. In order to easily differentiate between these channels when selecting a channel to record on I have adapted the channel logos for each region.

I have attached these should anyone else feel the need to use them. The naming is the same as the zip file, so if you do use these you will overwrite the ones in the zip file with the same name. Please note that there are different channel spellings for the Freesat & Freeview channels, hence the 'duplicates' below.

Looks like we need some new ITV logos. I might make some tonight if I have some free time (I have the templates).

Another thing - it's really annoying that the logos are all fixed at 100x100. Running MediaPortal 1.3.0, the logos appear larger than that in some places (especially the radio logos which are huge), making them very blurry and generally crappy looking. I think any new logos should be made much larger than 100x100 if possible and I know I'm going to go back and make at least my more commonly viewed/listened TV/radio logos bigger at some point.

I've updated both zip files in post 266, including the ITV logos and made note of the BBC national variations.

@DragonQ The logos don't scale down well, I've tried 400x400 from DJBlu's grabber and for the most part everything looked jagged. Although in the last thread 300x300 was recommended for radio by wonkyd.

What do you mean they don't scale down well? Do you mean if the logo file is 400x400, the smaller logos appearing next to the channel names in the EPG look jagged? If so, MediaPortal must be using a crappy resizing algorithm and this should be fixed.

A lot of the major channel logos are available in SVG format, so the glossy logos can be made in any size.

@DragonQ Yeah unfortunately and in other places too, the comments in the other thread also mention scaling as an issue. 200x200 seems common for the other countries packs though. Can MediaPortal use SVGs, the cache is PNGs?

You can also take the logos from Sky's online guide (edit the 80 and 35 in the logo URL for the required size) or use the grabber. Taking it one step further you could then use MPLogoCreator to output them at various sizes and styles.

@Paranoid Delusion I can't replicate that with the standard style logos from wonkyd's pack, have you tried clearing your cache?

I doubt MediaPortal could use SVGs. If it could, this would be a non-issue because the glossy template could be made in SVG and, assuming the channel logo is available in SVG format, it'd look perfect at any resolution.

However, the next best thing is to use an SVG version of the glossy template and the highest resolution version of the channel logo available (or SVG if available) to make the final PNG. As long as MediaPortal uses some sensible (e.g. bicubic) resizing algorithm, this should look fine in all scenarios.

I'm just wondering, will the extension be kept up to date? If wonkyd is unable to update, is anyone else able to do this... looking in the direction of Jasmeet since you've been doing a fine job of keeping your 266 post up to date. :)
