I have followed the TV Server installation to the letter as per videos etc. When I get to the Server install I do not get the icon on the desktop, but I can run the server from the menu. Asks for password etc and then pressing Test shows connected. I then press Save, after a few seconds the message unable to connect to database appears, and when canceled is followed by the setup screen, but with nothing listed in the left hand panel. The database is running and I have tried the install several times, but it is always the same. Looking through the back issues etc, I could only find one person with the same problem, but they did not get a reply, so I am not much wiser. Any advice much appreciated.

Remember to allow sqlservr.exe AND sqlbrowser.exe from your (Windows) firewall (at the TVServer PC of course?)... I thought that I had them already and was fighting with it almoust a week before I realized that "sqlbrowser.exe" was still missing... :)
Don´t worry about the TVServer icon at the desktop, I realized it too but they where useing older version (0.2.0.0) in that video. So the icon was appearing in a desktop then but it seems that not with current builds...

Good luck... I LIKE IT A LOT!!! :)
(I still got few problems thau... :( )

Thanks Yukka,

I do not have any sort of firewall enabled, even windows. I suppose that I could re-enable it and then allow those files access. Difficult to imagine it would make any difference though. I will try it tonight when I get home, just in case. Many thanks.

Appreciate your comment,

I found this post before, but this is not the problem as it occurred on the first install also. I think I will try it on a spare machine to see if I get the same result. Again, thanks for the advice.
