Good day everyone,

I have done my due dilligence by searching the forum and Wiki but I cannot get MyTV to display the TV signal from my Set-top box via Composite. I have a Fusion HDTV 5 USB Gold connected via Composite to the Cable Set-top box.

Forget about the fact that neither the Analog nor the ATSC tuner of my card can find/scan any channel. What bothers me is that I cannot get passed the error message in MyTV "Unable to start timeshifting Unknown Error occured".

The Composite channels show under Channels in the TVEngine but the Preview does not work there either giving me an error "Preview Failed. Unknown Error". EPG is disabled.

Anythoughts? any idea on the scanning problem too?

My Specs follow and the logs are attached.
:D

Hey can you even scan any channels at all? I use starhub and Hauppauge HVR-900 and cant seem to detect any signal at all. However, I can use WinTV to view the channels.

Over at htpc-gear.com I asked the same thing and this guy said that "the cable box sends out its signal on UHF Channel 67 (838-846 Mhz)." This guy uses a Hauppauge 150, and tunes it to 839 Mhz in order to receive the signal.

As for the EPG try TVxb

So I guess it works but it's got something to do with the configuration. Any ideas?

Ok, I have done some more research with MediaPortal and Meedios. I found out that I cannot even build a graph due to the DBA drivers not connecting its Demux Pins accurately. Also, it seems like the Device ID and Device Names have been changed so we need to adapt these.

I have given up on Meedios, which is otherwise a superb HTPC software. I will try with MediaPortal again. You may have noticed that th Dvico support page lists MediaPortal now as a supported software....I am going to enquire about it and revert back.

I will also try the scanning manual.

Hi olivier,

I got the same problem with an AverMedia A16C Hybrid.

Maybe the s-video connection the solution?

I don't know what else to do.

Please, let me know if you have news about.

Thanks in advance,

David
