When I try and add BBC Three and BBC Four as channels on TV Server, I get the following 'error: unable to start graph'

I've attached my tuning details for BBC Four if I'm doing something wrong.

I'm still struggling to get the log working so I can't post those at the moment.

Any thoughts on what is causing the error?

Hi theboyfold

I would wait until after 7:00pm when these channels start to broadcast. At the moment CBBC is broadcasting where BBC3 will broadcast and CBeebies where BBC4 will broadcast. With DVB-S I used to have to do one scan during the day and one in the evening to pick up both sets of channels. I haven't used DVB-S since I moved in 2007 (although I am hoping to start again in the next week or so) so I can't say if this is still the case.

Thanks for the reply, I've tried again and looked for CBBC and it's there but I get the same error when I try to open it. It says 'Preview failed:UnableToStartGraph'

Any idea what it could be?

Any idea if this could be a codec issue? Does the term graph refer to the video graph?

Hi theboyfold

If you look for CBBC after 19:00 you will get that error as it is not broadcasting and its frequency is being used by BBC3.

The channels work like this:

CBBC 07:00 - 19:00 then BBC3 19:00 to about 04:30
CBeebies 07:00 - 19:00 then BBC4 19:00 to about 04:00

BBC3 and BBC4 currently cannot broadcast the same time as CBBC and CBeebies as they timeshare the same frequencies.

Just to add for the above channels, they stop and start transmitting 2 minutes earlier, so your pre-record time setting needs to be a maximum of 2 minutes otherwise any recordings may fail.

Cheers for the help guys. CBBC and CBeebies both seem to work fine, I'll check again this evening if BBC Three and Four are there.

Just done a rescan and found BBC Three and Four, so thanks for that advice.

Still have the error of UnableToStartGraph when I try and view my own attempt at viewing BBC Three, but at least it's up and running.

    Thanks
