If you are using the Latest SVN give this TSWriter a whirl and let me know if it solves your problems.

Thanks for the effort. I'm currently on 1.0.2. I did try the TSWriter file on the off chance it would work, but no dice. I'll try again after I update to the latest version. Thanks again

It does need the newest SVN as there are changes in the TV Library too.

OK. I moved up to 1.1 Alpha and tried the TSWriter file, but again no joy. What SVN do I need to be more current than?

I have had similar problems, scanning for channels with my dvb-s2 card returned "no signal" for all transponders and when importing an old channel list and tuning sometimes worked the first time after a reboot but never again util another reboot.
However, after reinstalling a clean MP 1.1.0 with the latest svn and the new Tswriter.ax, I am able to do a full channel scan and I am finding all my channels and only getting "no signal" where it is suppose to be. Also, tuning channels seem to work fine, only a few "unable to start graph/ timed out waiting for pmt" but it might be on channels that I might not be able to receive, I haven't sorted the channel list after the scan so I'm not sure. :) However, tuning the same channel serveral times work every time now... :) even when tuned other channels inbetween...

Thanks a lot! :D

Here are my logs if you are intrested...

Seems that I spoke too early, after some more testing I'm back to square 1 again and I can only tune 1 channel per reboot. Nothing has changed in the Mediaportal installation to my knowledge, I have only installed Windows update pathes and rebooted.
Any more progress on this?

Here are my logs..

It seems I have this problem too, but only on HD channels ( https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/general-support-51/cant-start-hd-channels-directly-67670/ ) when I try to switch them on while the card is idle. A channel switch to an HD channel always works when a channel is already running, but if I try to tune in to an HD channel as the first channel, it doesn't work. The log shows the PMT timeout
    Code:
    2009-07-12 16:42:55.593750 [12]: WaitForPMT: Waiting for PMT.
2009-07-12 16:43:05.593750 [12]: WaitForPMT: Timed out waiting for PMT after 10,015625 seconds. Increase the PMT timeout value?

I have exactly the same Problem ( same message as spooky in Log ) using a Mystique Cabix C2 Card ( KNC one TV Station ) with CI Cineview, Alphacrypt Classic 3.16 and Unitymedia Cable Provider. The cam setting are as reconmended.

If i reboot my PC and tune into a channel it works, switching from an encrypted channel to an free channel in 7 Times out of 10 produce this "unable to start graph" message, the same the other way round if i switch from free to encrypted channels. Unfortunately nearly all channels on this damn provider are encrypted ( all channels free and encrypted on 256 qam symbolrate 6900 ) so that it is a real pain to zapp inside mp :(

Trying to tune in on the second try mostly works. I´ve tried various SVN´s, Alpha and 1.02 Version, Alpha on Win7 and both on Vista 32, it´s everytime the same problem.

Globe TV from KNC is working flawlessly, no switching probs there.

I have tried 1.1.0 Alpha today and the same problem is still there. I also tried the newest SVN and the alternate TsWriter.ax file, without any luck.

Had this problem for the last few days, after a scan (DVB-C) i was getting "unabletostartghaph", when it did start, switching between channels (scrambled to free-to-air) would cause this message.... it was a pain!

My system was working fine until i installed a new card (DVB-S2) & had to moves slots around, plus to add to the confusion my cable card was using the same chipset (mantis), so i did think it was a hardware conflict at first, anyway after matching the drivers so they used the same one, i was seeing the "unabletostartghaph", after a scan, this is how i fixed it:-

1, Uninstall MadiaPortal completely (full removal)
2, Uninstall MyQSL 5.1(64bit) completely (full removal)

    rebooted

Then re-installed MYQSL 5.1 then Mediaportal.

I did remove/re-install MediaPortal a few times, the message just kept returning, it wasn't until i removed MyQSL and started with a NEW Database did it clear, for some reason in my case it was in database.

hope this helps a couple of people.

I got the dreaded PMT timeout error again when i got back from Holiday - 2 weeks off and then a bunch of DVBC channels woudlnt work.

1 rescan from the DVBC file later and all returned - job done!

I guess they moved ssoem channels around while i was off!

Well, I'm going back to Windows MCE. Maybe not back, but with the Windows 7 version. I love the eycandy MP offers, I love all the extra functionality MP offers. But getting a basic function, like watching TV, to work is to much annoyance by now. Can't remember similar issues with MCE. Besides that, this issue seems not to be picked up by developers. Though logs are posted as asked, no follow up about this issue at all. What's with that?

MCE plugin developers are trying to catch up. Must say the new MediaBrowser plugin looks very promising.

    Hi,

finally I stucked here as well.

I played around with 1.1.0alpha and 1.0.2, finally reinstalled 1.1.0alpha completely from the scratch (clean all) and have the same issues as before. Most actual TsWriter is installed. The strange thing is that due to the fresh installation I made a complete scan on both active cards directly before starting the MP app. All NITs, PMTs, PATs etc. have been found without problem (see attached logs; pls ignore everything earlier than 21.08; I was too lazy to delete it). But within the application this seems to be different...

    I'm really frustrated

P.S. I'm still wondering, why my signal level is 0; DVBDream shows me that the level is 98%; might there be somewhere in the software an if(signal_level==0) then PMT_FOUND=FALSE; ? :p

Just an observation. Looking at your logs, it looks like the LCN was 10000 during the scan process and for Das Erste Freq:11836000 ONID:1 TSID:1101 SID:28106 PMT:0x64 the LCN was 831 when you tried to tune it and got a timeout. I don't know of any use that MP makes of Logical Channel Number (LCN), but that is the only thing I see different. Makes no sense to me why that might be an issue, so it is just an observation.
