Hi,

I have suddenly started getting the error message 'Unable to start timeshifting - unknown error occured' when entering Live TV. When I try to preview channels in the TV-Server Config, I get an 'Unknown Error'. The tv service was working fine yesterday, using svn18951. Turned on the PC, started MP today (no changes at all since yesterday) and started getting the message. I uninstalled MediaPortal and TV Server, reinstalled RC1 and installed svn19010. Still getting the same error messages. I uninstalled and reinstalled codecs. Still getting the same message. I have never had this problem before.

Thoughts anyone??

I believe I have exactly the same problem.
Started at midnight. The TV service stopped.
In the morning, after starting the service I get The 'Unknown Error' while starting the time shifting on TV servers management console.
Tried To reinstall and upgrade from RC1 to the latest SVN Rev19010.
Nothing helps.

The problem is back.
The TV Service went down at midnight.
Appears the problem occurs at every 3 third day of th month.
Tried to move the date one day forward and the problem is gone, as it happened last month.

Arik.

    Hi,
arikzinger, do you use the latest SVN(you only say RC1 which has the problem, in SVN it should be fixed)?

    Regards

Was away for weekend, this problem appeared for me also (using PVR150 and HVR1300 tuners).

Ronlise's MPFileWriter.zip patch fixed it - thanks! Very impressed with (new to me) TV Server.

    Cheers, Deco.

Just had the exact same error as already described. Tried to start the TV and keep getting the 'Unable to start timeshift, UnknownError'. Difference with the rest is that I have a DVB-C digital tuner. Tried applying the patch given in the thread and that did not resolve the issue.

Sometimes restarting the computer does resolve the issue.

I have got the same error as Gjongerius.

My configuration is almost simular to him.

Sometimes restarting the computer does resolve the issue.
    Same TV Card.
    Same TV Provider.

TV works fine with the software provided with the FireDTV card. But with MediaPortal it doesn't.

Is there a solution for this 'bug'????

Th original bug was date specific and was solved a long time ago. I would suggest you start a sepperate support thread with all the required information.
