Hi
I'm a DVB-S n00b and am having some trouble viewing all of the channels on a single transponder.

The duff transponder is 11642 V at 28.2E (Astra 2/Freesat).

When I do a channel scan I pick up the following channels on that freq
Bliss, Chart Show TV, Flaunt,
Flava, Kix!, NME TV,
POP, PopGirl, PopGirl + 1,
Scuzz, Showcase TV, The Vault,
Tiny Pop, Tiny Pop +1, True Movies,
True Movies 2

All of the channels show up with a symbolrate of 27500 and FEC of 2/3 which I beleive is correct

Is anyone in the UK able to view these channels?

Mark

Scuzz, Tiny Pop and True Movies USUALLY work for me (or certainly did recently - haven't watched any of those for a bit). The others may work as well - haven't tried though. Pretty sure Scuzz worked in the last couple of weeks at least.

I do sometimes get trouble receiving some channels on Eurobird (which is where that transponder is, not Astra) though. How recently did you rescan? They seem to keep moving stuff about. Occasionally I've fixed channels by looking up the parameters on a site like KingOfSat and manually editing it in MP/TvServer setup. When I set my dish up I was getting a terrible signal from Eurobird - had to play around a bit to get Astra and Eurobird both strong, although they're very close together (28.2E and 28.5E).

    Hi Rob

Thanks for the pointer to KingOfSat... I've been hunting for that kind of resource.

The rescan was done within an hour or so of trying to view the channels as I've only just installed my BGT3450 card. I did read a note somewhere about the transponder frequency clashing with that used by DECT cordless phones - one of which is sitting next to the HTPC - so when I get home I'll turn it off and report back.

Do you know if there is a way to rescan a single transponder within TV Server setup? A full rescan takes about 30 minutes

    Cheers

I can confirm all those channels are working on my system now. I did a rescan yesterday so yours should be the same. I haven't heard about that phone interference thing - sounds worth a try though. I don't know if there's a way to rescan a single transponder - you could possibly fool it by setting false upper and lower frequencies for the LNB (I haven't tried it though so I don't know if that would work).

I can confirm that the cause of my problem was my DECT phone/basestation which was about a meter away from the HTPC. The instant I switched the phone's power brick off, the channels appeared on my screen. Thankfully by moving the phone to the other side of the room I can still have it on without it interfering.

Thanks for checking the channels at your end, Rob.:D
