The capturecardsdefinitions.xml is in the user files, open MP config and there is a button topleft that will take you too it.

This is only used for MP's built in TVEngine (technically obsolete), NOT TVServer which should auto detect your card, if you cannot tune then you are missing something, check here GeneralRequirements - MediaPortal Manual Documentation

Thanks for clearing that up Paranoid, I was beginning to think I was crazy. Okay, so is there a way to modify the auto configuratoin to point an ASTC TV tuner to "Microsoft Network Provider" instead of "Microsoft ASTC Network Provider".

TO be honest i don't know . You should contact the support guys who made the software. Have you tried the manuals for RC4.
