until you change the strings_de.xml file mp will "think" it is pan&scan mode although due to the changed core.dll the mode is actually smart stretching.
only a screenshot can really prove it is pan&scan or smart...

I copied the patched core.dll into the MP directory ("C:\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal") and replaced the original one.

You can see the TV logo ist gone in "smart" mode

I tried this guys and to me, its not the same, as anything circular, even in the middle of the screen is now so obviously oval, this was not the case with the original fixes.

Any ideas

Language field id is 946 for those that want SmartStretch rather than Pan & Scan to show up in MP's Aspect menu, just edit your language file in notepad and save.

This will still show pan & scan in MP config though.

This is a must have for the next MP release after the feature freeze of 1.0.
Even MS MCE has this non linear zoom....so MP must have it too.
