Re: AW: *UPDATED 30-6-2011* Yet another new version :) - Major changes PLEASE TEST

@craige1: Will there be an fixed version (emulator fanart?)

Or could you please explain how to add the emulator fanart manually?

    thx
    pOpY

You should be able to just drag n drop an image file from Windows Explorer onto the panel where the fanart should be. Does this not work for you? The 'V' button is to View the image, the 'X' to delete. Neither will do anything if you have no artwork configured, hence why they are dead.

You can copy the image to the thumb folder manually, by default this is

    Games - C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\myEmulators\games\[Emulator Name]\[Game ID]\

    Emulators - C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\myEmulators\emulators\[Emulator Name]\

the image must either be a png or jpg and named 'Fanart' - e.g 'Fanrt.jpg'

As to your problem with the aspect ratio to returning correctly - I think this is a problem with MP itself - but have you tried enabling the Suspend MP option for the emulator? Does it only happen with a specific Emulator?

    Thx

AW: *UPDATED 30-6-2011* Yet another new version :) - Major changes PLEASE TEST

thx brownard for the fanart hint. Have uploaded my pictures here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/773271-post15.html

Regarding the aspect ratio. Yes i have tried "Suspend MP" but it also doesnt work. It just happens to MP if the emulator changes screen resolution. Have worked around it by launching a bat which kills MP an restarts it after playing with emulator.

I also think its an MP problem/issue.

when do you excpect a new version?

    thx

I have yet to try this because I just found it but now I really want to try it but I think I am going to wait until the 29th when 1.2RC comes out will this version work with that or do you have another release following 1.2RC' release? Oh and does this work with StreamedMP?

Brownard and I are working on a heavily modified version of this current code, calling it My Emulators 2. While this version should work with 1.2 RC1, we will be dropping support for this one when My Emulators 2 makes its release. This is to allow us to focus on one release, and bring my emulators forward.

No date. Saying a date is like making a promise that it will be out by that date. The date cant be set in stone for a project like this where the work is done in any available time we have. I have been a sucker for dates, waiting for that day, then getting disappointed or even annoyed when it doesn't come out. I don't want to do that.

What I can tell you is we're about ~70% done with the building side of it. But there is that old saying "the last 10% takes up 90% of the time". We'll have to start talking about how to handle bug testing and the like.

nice to see that there are people who take care of this job!

It's a long time a go that this plugin was under serious (re)development..

Last version was pretty good, but need some work..

I like to see a more automatic process for this plugin, like movingpictures does by example.. Select a folder, and copy your gamelauncher shorcuts in that folder, and let the plugin do the artwork, genre configures etc.. Maybe better is to select a drive, and let the plugin scan for games..

    :)

I have a problem, but that's not because this plugin, but maybe here are some guys that know a solution for it.

The resolution of my HTPC is 1280 X 768 for my plasma tv. I have added some parameters in the shortcut of mediaportal, so It's startup at 1920 X 1080. I like that resolution more for movies and live tv. For Windows is this resolution to big, because I can't read the tekst good anymore. The problem is, that when I stop with playing a game on 1280 X 768, and go back to mediaportal, the resolution is wrong, and not 1920 X 1080 anymore, and mediaportal is halve projected on the screen. Is there a way to keep Mediaportal in the samed resolution, without chaning the resolution of whole Windows? An option is to change the resolution in games to fullHD, but for some games is that resolution to big for my system, so would like to keep the resolution for games @ 1280 X 768. :)

Re: (Supported Release) *UPDATED 30-6-2011* Yet another new version :)

Great news that My Emulators 2 is being developed by the My Anime guys.

I never used the Emulators plugin due to it requiring manual organizing of data.
But now I'm hopeful that the new version will scan files not based on filename only but on CRC like My Anime 2 does. ROMS of most platforms also have unique identifying product codes that can be also be scanned to accurately identify them.

I did a program awhile ago that scanned my PlayStation ISOs to get the product code and used that to search mobygames and fetch all this data, and started researching for games on other platforms but, well, low priority.
