First of all, I can't find a forumsection for 1.1.1 so I post this installation bug here.

The 1.1.1 version of the installer also doesn't work.
Updating from 1.1.0 to 1.1.1 seems to go ok but if you start mediaportal it immediately gives an error and shuts down. The errormessage says the tv plugin is not updated. Trying to update again also doesn't work because the installer says everything is the 1.1.1 version.
I've seen many people reporting the same thing already.
I guess the only way to properly install 1.1.1 is to first uninstall 1.1.0 :(
Please provide a good version of 1.1.1 asap so users can properly update.

I have encoutered the same. W7 x64 and going from 1.1 to 1.1.1. Got an error message with something about TVService.exe.
Re-running the installation mediaportal doesnt give me the option to do an update anymore, so I helped myself here a bit.

I extracted the installation.exe file (with 7z) of mediaportal and in one of the directories, I ran the TV server installation separatly to get rid of the problem. But I first HAD to do a un-install of TVserver (normal) and quit the install program. Confirm the Team Mediaportal\TVserver directory is empty and then do the new install of the TV server again. After that the MP configuration was 100% correct again. :)

Regarding the installation problem; I get the feeling the TVserver.exe isnt killed completely or w7x64 still thinks it is an active service thus preventing writing the new tvservice.exe. I have no logs or what so ever, just a feeling from a noob. :)

Well, if we change anything then it won't be 1.1.1 anymore :)

But seriously, thanks for reporting. The team will need to confirm the problem (it could be something on your machine which means that the TVService cannot be stopped, and this causes the error) and will presumably then be able to fix it.

I confirm also, you need to manually stop the TV server before update, if not the TV server is not updated.

I updated 1.1.0 to 1.1.1 just a few hours ago. The installer had no problem updating tvserver as well. No manual intervention from my side.
I guess there must be something specific to the setup's that experience the problems.
Best therefore to share as much detail as possible. Maybe someone can spot the similarity.

This seems to have been around for a while and we have put several fixes into the installer but obviously problems still exist.

AIUI the basic issue is that the installer is unable to replace files because they are in use.

Can anyone who has this issues try and think if there is anything that might be locking files. Eg. TvServer plugins web access 4tr use of MDAPI etc so we can attempt to narrow down the problem

I can confirm the issue with TvServer plugin not updated to 1.1.1 from 1.1.0 version. It seems that TV-server was up and running, and when installation process got to that part it failed. LUCKILY I made an image for present system and could fall back to that one. Lucky me :)

I have had this issue as well, but I always thought it had to do with the fact I had For The Record installed and running. So this time I made sure that the FTR core service wasn't running, but the MePo installer still didn't update the TV Plugin. In fact, the "TV Server Configuration" said 1.1.0 when I ran that after the 1.1.1 installer had finished.

Perhaps everyone with these issues are using FTR?

Which is why I need you to think about what might be locking tvservice on your machine where as others upgrade quite happily.

Are you using anything like ipimp, web services, 4tr? What have you changed from default options? (Eg. EPG grabbing, timeshift etc)

Have you set the windows service to restart on failure?
