I use https://tortoisegit.org/ it is reaaaaly easy.
Just do a right click on the folder and select commit. Really easy

It would be wonderful if you could find some time also in the future. But don't feel pushed

Well I use tortoisegit for pulling source from your repository, but that's about all I know about git. I never tried to commit anything.

I forgot to mention that you have to mention that the DLNAProfiles.xml currently only has a default profile, and that will not work with most smart TV's an phones. I was thinking about porting the Serviio profiles. To my knowledge they are created by the Serviio community and not by the Serviio developers themselves, so I have no idea if that would violate any licenses. Any thoughts?

I don't think it is a big deal as long as there is a header telling that the Serviio profile was the base.
I mean thy probably also worked it out from different clients or other programs. The same way Plex did it

You can see it in the post build event you deleted...
It needs to be in the plugin folder. Also all the image files need to be copied.
For the transcoding library you also need to copy ffmeg and the font folder to the plugin folder. Again in a deleted post build event...
