FOr the life of me, I can't figure out how to get mp and tvserver to plast codes to my stb. I found the logs and they point to a problem with the TV3BlasterPlugin. I am unsure what to do next.

Here are the logs. The TV.log seems normal but the rror.log points to errors with the TV3BlasterPlugin installation

tv.log
2011-08-23 18:48:11.977600 [SetupTv(1)]: ---- SetupTv v1.1.7.0 is starting up on - Pastebin.com

error.log
2011-08-23 18:49:32.712800 [GenericPCQueue(11)]: TV3BlasterPlugin: Failed to bla - Pastebin.com

Hello Again mm. Appreciate the help.

If you only knew how many times I have read those pages looking for the obvious step I must be missing <grin>.I have no doubt I am doing something wrong but I just don't see it.

In particular, I am trying to blast to a Motorola stb that is liste as a choice in the TV3Blaster configuration

I believe I have the TV3blaster plugin installed and enabled.

The channels for the HD-PVR were added automatically by selecting the appropriate option in the Schedules Direct plug, rather than added manually as described in the link.

From the TV3Blaster plugin configuration,if I press on test to send a channel code, I get errors in the TVServer error.log.

I can appreciate that my HTPC configuration is maybe not run of the mill with the Adaptec Analog tuners, the HD-PVR and an HDHomeRun but this almost has me beat!

Regardless I do appreciate ethe help.

    Hi again

    I guessed you must have found it but I just wanted to double check. Unfortunately I'm not particularly familiar with IRSS and blasting. Are there not any IRSS logs available?

    No problem. I have done enough troubleshooting with other to know that you need to verify the basics before you move onto more complicated answers <grin>.

    The error.log file gives several errors that seem to indicate a problem with the way the TV3Blaster plugin is installed but I can't get past that.

    Hmmm, just a quick addendum to my post...

    I could be totally off on the wrong track here but I'm wondering whether you've set the "port" value for the IR commands as per the screenshot -->here<--. In your logs I'm seeing:

    TV3BlasterPlugin - BlastIR(): C:\ProgramData\IR Server Suite\Set Top Boxes\Motorola DCT-2000\0.IR, Default

    After a whirlwind tour of the code and a quick google I'd be of the opinion that the highlighted section should be either "both", "port_1", or "port_2".

    I beleive the options in the TV3Blaster plugin are default, 1, 2, 3. Default is supposed to be "All" 3 port simultaneously. The USB-UIRT is capable of outputing to three ports so at least that much is consistent.

    I pride myself in being an expert computer user. I would have preferred to stay in the Windows environment but this experience with getting MediaPortal up and running almost has me considering MythTV under Linux <grin>.

    I am guessing if I had a system with only one type of tuner, things would have been easier so I am hoping, if I can get by the setup issues I am having, the rest will be "smoooooth" sailing.

    What concerns me right now are the "Failed to blast IR command" and the exceptions reported in the error.log file.

    Hi again Ian

    Obviously the logs and code I'd been looking at must be out of date or something. :confused:

    6.2011-08-23 18:49:40.224800 [GenericPCQueue(11)]: TV3BlasterPlugin: Failed to blast IR command
    This is the problem. Unfortunately there is no detail about why the command fails.

    7.2011-08-23 19:07:12.919200 [TVService(6)]: TvService OnStart failed : System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Thread was being aborted.
    8. at System.Threading.Thread.SleepInternal(Int32 millisecondsTimeout)
    9. at TvService.TvServiceThread.OnStart()
    Ignore that.

    10.2011-08-23 19:07:12.997200 [TVService(6)]: Exception :confused:ystem.ArgumentException: Service TvEngine.Events.ITvServerEvent is not registered
    11. at TvLibrary.Interfaces.ServiceProvider.Get[T]()
    12. at SchedulesDirect.Plugin.SchedulesDirectPluginTVE3.TvEngine.ITvServerPlugin.Stop()
    13. at TvService.TvServiceThread.StopPlugins()
    I *think* this can also be ignored - it only happens when calling StopPlugins(). It might make me suspicious that you hadn't installed the right version or something, but I'm already way out of my depth here so I wouldn't have a clue what the "right" version would be.

    I would like to say that I have something to suggest, but honestly I have no idea what is wrong. The fact that your setup isn't exactly run of the mill shouldn't affect this.

    rekenaar, Spragleknas: are you able to offer any insight?

    Thanks again though. The help and comments are appreciated.

    Hopefully someone else will be able to give me something to try.

    I will create a complete set of debug logs tonightand post them if I have a chance. Maybe there will be a clue somewhere.

    Hi :)

    Unfortunately I also have no idea as to what is going on. Quite common question is "the test command blasts correct but no blasting otherwise". In your case the test does NOT work :confused:
    What version of MP and IRSS do you use?
    Can you perhaps also attach the logs from the IRSS program data directory?
