USBUIRT & TV-Server? (1 Viewer)

I assume that USBUIRT does not work with the new TV-Server (at least it didn't work for me)... I cannot change channels with the new TV-Server (and my external settop satellite receiver) - USBUIRT does not work and Hauppauge blaster does not work.

I use USBUIRT for both sending and receiving:
- USBUIRT receiving from my remote control into MP (this works)
- USBUIRT sending IR signals (ie blasting) to my settop box (satellite receiver)

USBUIRT sending/blasting works with the standard TV in MP, but does not send from the TV-Server service...

What are the development plans to port USBUIRT to the new TV Server? Does this code have to be broken up into a send and recieve module (now they are combined) as the new TV-Server will never receive IR signals?

If I were you, I would check out the following thread. I think this is the only active development going on currently with remote support for the TV server. Note: I maybe wrong.

Read that thread and ask questions there.

Any progress on a USBUIRT port to the new TV server?

Can't change channels with the new tv server, so have to go back to MP tv (where USBUIRT works well).

The other thread (MCE Replacement Plugin) is for MCE remotes and blasters only...

excuse my igonorance:oops: why dose the server have to support the remote? I thought that only MediaPortal needs to support it, since MP tells the server what to do?

Because you still have to have the channels mapped in the TV-engine to get your Receiver to work. Until today, you could only use your dvb, analog cards within the tv engine. There was no way for you to control your Receiver with it.

Joboehl has been working very hard and created a serverblaster plugin. (You can check it out in the latest SVN releases) Currently it only works with Microsoft and SMK. I told him about the users with USB-UIRT units... and he is going to take a look at it. I have a USB-UIRT and just use it for my analog and dvb cards and it works just fine for that.

I am hoping he can come up with something to get more users using the tv-engine. The more people we have using it the easier it is to find bugs and improve it.

Keep up the good work Dev's!

Thank you for looking into this ASiDiE - USBUIRT blasting support in the new TV server would be most welcome... Either the existing USBUIRT ported to the new tv server of the new plugin - sounds like the new plugin has more features though...

Any ideas if the same USBUIRT could be used for receiving (from the MP client) and for blasting (via commands from the TV-Server)? Hopefully there isn't a conflict in 2 programs accessing the USBUIRT at the same time. Something to discuss with devs...

Do you have any news from Joboehl about whether he will USBUIRT to the ServerBlaster plugin? I have switched to TV server last week-end and the only thing I'm currently missing is the USBUIRT blaster support.

    Hey everyone,

I'm working on a system that allows you to share an IR device between the MediaPortal client and the TV Server. It has support for the MCE device and USB-UIRT. It's currently in testing, but if you're keen to give it a go and can provide feedback on the experience then head over to the forum thread and have a read:

Aside from that, I could port the USB-UIRT code into my MCE Replacement plugin TV Server version? How much demand is there for USB-UIRT support in TV Server?

    Cheers,

and-81, I definitely would appreciate such a feature. This is the only way I can switch channels on my STB without buying new hardware ...

Thanks a lot for your awesome work.
