If you are using Vista its suppose to go in programdata\media portal\thumbs\fanart..

Hi Z3us, you shouldn't need to rename them as you could break the format the plugin expects. What filename did you choose?

Try preserving the filenames used from the site.

You dont need to activate Fan Art, you just need the version of the plugin that supports it v1.2.9.* and a relatively new skin to make it look nice. XFace will be fine.

Please create a thread and post a log, making sure you enter a series where you actually have fanart on your hdd. Then we can see why it doesnt work.

Log is created automatically as you run, called TVSeries.log

If your on Vista its somewhere in %appdata%\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Log
If your on XP its in your MP directory under Log

But please, create a different thread, it doesnt really belong here.

hey, i've been lurking around the forums some time now but its finally time to start posting.
Also contributed to the community by making some Fanart for my favorite Anime Initial D.
I'll also upload it to the Database later.

this fanart stuff is awesome!
the download-site lets you comfortably search for the stuff you need instead of having to go through forum pages.

so i tried and added a couple as well:

got 2 questions now:
spuck, did i get this right that you wrote the tvseries.xml for xface?
in the screen i attached you can see the small window is empty in the series overview screen. is there any way to have either another logo/banner, one of the episode pics or at least something selected-series-specific in there?
one other thing: right now when i press the left/right-arrow btn i go through the different items. one btn press too many though and it switches to the next category(all/favs/genre...) which is a little confusing. is there any way to work around that(like mapping the genre change to the change channel btn)? i guess this last question is more about the plugin/skinxml itself than the fanart, sorry bout that
