    Great job spuck!

I don't know, but I think I'm getting a bit concerned about "quality control". Not that the fanart you guys did isn't great, but I say quality over quantitiy. A rating system is great, so thanks for that.

Perhaps in addition to a full pack, you could add a "light" pack which only includes the top rated picture for each show. With shows like heroes having like 10 pictures by now, I think it would be easier to get ppl started.

Let me just throw something out there. Season Fanart. Getting too much (you select a series and get a series fanart, then u select a season and get a different f? Users can always not use it. Thoughts?

Edit: some of them are wrong (The office ones are under The office UK)

Spuck, love the site - I sent some new ones I had to make after not seeing them anywhere. For the tudors, the highlander and sherlock holmes series.

One suggestion, the pictures on the thumbnail preview page should be much smaller.

    Many thanks!

Inker, I would agree that it is going to be a little difficult to control and monitor. I created a few FanArts (woefully poor looking back on them now) when I was first learning Photoshop. From those I got comments and suggestions which were very useful and I have improved from there (haven't had time to post any new ones).

The problem that I see is more that the Fanart "quality" also depends on the Skin being used. Whilst the template provided early on is generally the same for most Skins I tend to switch occasionly between Project Mayhem, Revision and SpinSafe.

Each seems to have slightly different handling of the plugin and this then effects how well the FanArt comes out (ie. thumbnail at top or bottom of Episode list).

Not sure how this can be resolved, whether you would need to seperate FanArt into specific Skin type and have maybe a Common set that works for all.

Has anyone else noticed differences between Skins and found some work better than others?

Yep, that's where I was going with this page. Wrote it actually at the front page.
Haven't had any time to make any design/html/css and I probably wont since it'd take a lot of time but I'll be happy to combine my code with someones design, well if anyone's interested. ( and got a nice and discrete look ;) )

That sound like a great idea. Might be good with fan art specifically specified for a season but otherwise it'd be kind of pointless.
I'd be happy with a more random pick of fan art, I do often get the same fan art many times in a row when I go back and forth when I want another fan art. How does it work now?

One suggestion, the pictures on the thumbnail preview page should be much smaller.
If they are any smaller you wont see what's on them. :D If you are worried about load times I could make it like 20 thumbs a page or something.
Edit: Did this, it sounded like a good idea. :)

    lots of text...
I'd be way too much to make different fan art for different skins. The skins should be designed after fan art. That's my opinion. I would like to use foofaraw skin but can't since it doesn't work with fan art. So I'm using spinsafe revolve since it works very good. :/

I think making the thumbnails smaller and linking them to the original sized one would be better (or combine both). And a search function would be good, too, I think...

You're already linked to the original size/quality when clicking on the thumbs, has been that way since I started. :p
And no I wont make the thumbs smaller, it's nice to go trough the thumb list and voting without seeing the full size picture. Who has time for that with 200+ pictures? :)
Search function maybe, don't see the point though you can easily search in the filelist with Ctrl+F.

BTW. I have added some small statistics on the front page and ability to order by filename/date/not-rated in the thumblist.

This is kind of a complicated solution but here's an idea on incorporating fanart into thetvdb.com. Instead of hosting the file itself, the database would host a .torrent file for each individual piece of fan art. For this to really work though the TVShow plugin would really need an embedded bittorrent client, which obviously is no small task. There are some open source bittorrent libraries though that might be usable, but again, not easy. :/

Basically though on each user's machine, when running MediaPortal, the TVShows plugin would be seeding whatever fanart they currently have downloaded on their system. When the user scans for new video files and is importing a new show, the fanart would automatically be downloaded via the embedded bittorrent client based on the .torrent file hosted at thetvdb.com. Not the simplest solution, this sounds like a version 2.0 feature to me, but I think this would provide the end user a very smooth experience. It is asking a lot from the guys over at thetvdb.com to basically add a torrent tracker to their server, but it would not bring with it too much added bandwidth load.

Maybe not feasible, but I thought I'd throw it out there. Any thoughts?

Spuck, great site. My suggestion, is that on the "Top Rated" Page that you have waay smaller thumbs, actually, you can have smaller thumbs everywhere else too :) Just makes it easier to browse! Besides, people are generally only interested in fan art for series that they actually have or are planning on getting, so they can just click on the small thumb and it can load in a new tab for full view rather than loading these huge pics every time. Still looking through your site, will feedback more if i come across anything ;)

If you want to browse your favorite shows I think I made the "Filelist" pretty easy to use. As I said before I'm happy to integrate anyones design if anyone wanna code some html/css. I'd like a nice list with middle-sized thumbnails side by side too but I'm way to lazy, I'm not kidding I'm like the laziest person in my room.
