Ah you mean beside the text in the text list. :)
I like to see more episodes though. :p

Is it possible to remove them? I don't like to have them there! :)

Lol, I love them. Anyways, just set the icon size to 0 and they should dissapear.
    Nope. :(
    If I do this:
    <itemWidth>1</itemWidth>
    <itemHeight>1</itemHeight>

They kind of disappear but a small dot.
If I set it to 0 they do not disappear in fact they get as big as the original image. :(

Hmm, set iconyoff to 1 gazillion? I don't know, skinners?

I just deleted them outright from the skin file. I will post my XML tonight when I get home if anyone wants..

I don't think it would really matter if you have a dark fan art and then add a black transparent description box. That just makes more sense than having boxes in the fan art images. (Of course white transparent on light fan art)
Anyway I'm working on this tvseries.xml for the XFace skin and it works quite well for most of the fan art like this: http://jossan.visse.nu/~spuck/tvseries_dark-fanart.png but there are some that have the description box about 5px higher for some reason and then you kind of see a few lines of it with my skin.

    spuck,

Nice screen shot, the skin is looking great and coming along well. As for the text boxes in a skin or in the fanart itself the ideal way would be neither. I create primarily for the 1610 displays since that is what I use. Having the text box part of the fanart makes it difficult for other users to adapt to other display resolutions and primarily falls to the fanart creator. I am in the process of trying to convert my 1610 to 1609 for the majority of users out there but it is difficult not working with a native display.

Having the skin file create the opaque text box is also not the best way to go. Attached is my template for 1610 dark. The opaqueness of the text box is adjusted depending on the photo. The text box on 80349_dark_Californication_1610_2.png had to be darker because of the intermittent light background. Scrolling light text was hard to read and 80270_light_Burn_Notice_1610_2.png had to have a lighter text box for the same reason. Skin files are not going to know this and will not be able to adjust.

Having a common background is ideal but while yours looks awesome it can not just be dropped into other skins. It would look a little out of place in others and just not as crisp and clean. The alternative to this would be to have a common background file and not save text boxes within the fanart at all. This would allow the end user to throw the fanart in Adobe or GIMP and add the text box layer over it and adjust the transparency to their liking.

Now the ribbon at the top of your TVSeries skin, does this overlay and disappear or is it a permanent part of the display? If it is permanent, does the skin start under it or is it overlayed? That top ribbon is a concern for current fanart. If it is overlayed it will break some as they use the top to display the Series names. If it is starting under it then it will probably be OK as long as the skin is not re-sizing but allowing the bottom portion of the fanart to trail off screen.

P.S. - What would be really good is if the skin creators could post templates for their skins so fanart creators can develop for all skins at once. I use the Foofaraw1610 skin so that is what I test on. The more templates I had the better I can adjust my fanart so it will display correctly in other skins.

Isn't 16:10 only computer screens? Why would you use a computer screen for mediaportal? :p I don't know really but at least on my display 1610 fanart seems to look OK. I've tried 80349_dark_Californication_1610_1.png and it fits nicely into my skin. :) I'll make a screenshot when I get home.

It's kind of permanent. Since it's that way over the whole skin I thought I'd keep it. The fanart doesn't start until the end of the top bar, this actually makes the description box disappear on most fanart.

When I get home I can post my template for foofaraw 16:9 skin. That descriptionbox disappears perfectly on my new skin.

    A 22" 1610 makes a great HTPC for the bedroom.:D

The screen shots will be great, I can make the masks based on it.

It is good that the top ribbon is not overlayed on the fanart. This will allow the current fanart to work as it is not covering any previously allowed usable space.

I started making my own fanart because of the difference between the displays (1610 vs 1609). The 1609 skins are noticeably stretched on the 1610 screen. I am anxious to see how a 1609 screen displays a 1610 image. Once I am sure of how things are displayed I can create a script to save both the 1610 and the 1609 image in Photoshop.

    Thanks.

Yep, it is squished. I am working on a 1609 version now. i'll post it shortly for you to look at. I think you'll see a difference.

Give this one a shot and see if it displays better 80349_dark_Californication_1609_1.png.
