Not sure how much better that would be. Sounds like the skin is still going to display the overlay so we are back to where we left off. Actually a little worse since the skin is displaying a light or dark overlay only and a static level of overlay. The only way this would be an improvement is if the skin allowed the user to determine if an overlay was necessary, what color the overlay would be and how intense the overlay should be for each individual Fan Art. I think that would solve th problem right there.

Yeah, well, customized overlay for each fanart would do the trick aswell - my point isn't how many % transparent the overlay should be, but that the whole overlay-thing should be a plugin-issue - hell, even a seperate plugin to manage the fanart for what I care. The point is that I think it wasnt quite the smartest move to have the box hardcoded into all fanarts out there.

And obviously, as you can see, there are more then just me that doesnt like that square...

If the plugin could handle the specifics for each Fan Art and tell the skin what to display then it should not be a big overhaul for the skin maker. The plugin, however, would need to make the bulk of the changes and I'm not sure how much free time Inker has to make the changes. The plugin would need to track filename, overlay (Yes/No), overlay color and transparency %. It could pass this info to the skin.

Or, post a request in this forum to the (unknown) author of the skin and request they post a version without the overlay box. I keep the original .psd files of the skins I do so all it takes is turning off a layer. If others do the same then it should not be much of a problem.

Well, thats one of the reasons I'm now making new fanarts for the shows I currently have. Thats a fine workaround for me for the time being, without having to nag at Inker or anyone else.

But yeah, a plugin/feature like this in the future, would be awesome!

spuck, there seems to be a tiny bug on your site. It seems the site width is static, but there's not set a "max columns", making the thumbnails show up "outside" the design of the site. It only occurs on large resolutions, as with me running 1920x1200.

If you read the last 20 posts in this thread, you'd notice that I'm making all these fanarts for one reason; I don't want that f**ing box on the pictures, as I'm not using a skin that needs that black box. I can ofcourse provide PSD-files if there are someone that wants to add a nice box to cuddle with or whatever, but I'm not gonna spend time making boxes - atleast not for the moment.

I'm using Monochrome v.1.5... Does that answer your question, or am I misunderstanding your question? (again)

that answers the question. with monochrome the episode information is on the right side, on most skins its on the bottom left corner.

the box in the corner would really annoy me if i used monochrome. i didnt use it before because of the all black, but now with monochrome MCE available i might have to switch. i really like foofaraw though.
