Using Hauppauge IR Blaster with MP? (1 Viewer)

Hi I have your new version of serverblaster and in Hauppauge blaster config cet working code for my STB (tested and working in BlastCfg).

How I can setup channel in TV server to use blasting??
I made channel with source from SVHS and in channel number I set number of channel position on STB, but when I switch to this channel nothing happenst - no blasting, I can see channel from STB only without blast.

presumably you followed the guidance in this post to set things up.

Please note that if your STB channels are < 100, then you must use the ServerBlaster dll in that same post, not the one created for ghostlobster.

If none of the above helps, then please post the logs.

stanik: You are using the wrong serverblaster version that was for ghostlobster.

In this log, your STB channel was 5 but because it is < 100, it is not Blasted (because that's what ghostlobster needed).

Load my original version in post 13 and it should be ok.

Sorry about that - had already uninstalled IR Server Suite beforehand when I found out that it wasn't going to work the way I needed it to (ie blast the hauppauge).

Do you feel that you are losing any functionality by having to uninstall IR Server Suite in order for the ServerBlaster.dll to work?

I couldn't resist the challenge....here's a plugin to replace ServerBlaster.dll in RC4. It has not been tested on other RC's or the SVN builds.

in the Mediaportal TV Server\plugins folder
1. rename ServerBlaster.dll to ServerBlaster.dll.orig
2. copy the new Plugin to the same folder
3. run TV_Server Configuration, choose Plugins,
4. select ServerBlaster (Version 1.1.0.0)
5. run the ServerBlaster configuration by opening the Plugins group.
6. Select the Hauppauge Blaster type.
7. Away you go!

The original Microsoft and SMK blasters should still work.

Note: you will to ensure that the Hauppauge IR.exe is running. I have this program run as a startup program "C:\Program Files\WinTV\Ir.exe" /QUIET

As the ServerBlaster configuration panel also states, you will need to use the Hauppauge configuration program to set up the ir blaster codes and configuration settings.


Note: If you want to rollback to the prior ServerBlaster, please make sure that you select either the Microsoft or SMK blaster before removing the new plugin, since the original plugin will abort as it doens't handle more than two blaster types.

Any problems, please choose extended logging from the configuration panel, and post logs.


Source code also attached - Perhaps this can be included in the SVN should it be robust and reliable.

I'm trying to use this with my hauppauge remote and it seems to randomly stop working with a UIR_GotoChannel failed error in the log. Note that the test button in blastcfg.exe continues working even after it fails in MP. Restarting my computer seems to be the only way to get it working again. Here's a log snippet:

This error message is a part of the original code, and is caused after a call to the hcwIRBlast.dll. I am not sure what might cause this error message. My only thoughts are:

1. Do you have multiple Hauppauge cards? If so, then I'm sorry, this patch to ServerBlaster doens't handle multiple cards.
2. Could you be running another program that might be trying to access the blaster, in which case, I suggest disabling then, if that is practical. (Is Blastcfg still running while you run MP?)

finally working for me. Thanks Ralphy.
Sometimes I have the same problem with blasting. I found its everything fine until I start BlastCfg, after that I have same problem´and I must restart pc for solving this error (problem).

Ralphy I have special need. Can you make plugin with sending after channel nuber is more then 1000 (4 digits) ? Because I have channel number for normal analog cable tv more then 99 (151, 343, etc) and everytime this channels start blasting to STB.
