please add an option to you installer to remove the flip effect

users of the ati 690 chipset need to remove this option in the xml files to use skins without freezes

I love the Monochrome skin, and champion it in threads and posts over in the AVForums, and think the Installer package that comes with v2 is a good idea.

A few things I would like to see:

In the installer, it gives the option to have the fan art, but does not create the fan art folder, potentially making it confusing for those that dont know where to add the pics in the first place.

TVSeries screens. I use this the most I think out of all the sections, and much prefer the uncluttered look of versions 1.7, rather than the glass sideboard effect of 1.8 and above. Any way of adding a preference in how this appears? Not only does 1.8+ have this, the font becomes too large and overlaps (where it says All > Unwatched > Watched) and with the show synopsis appearing on the left, it makes things look 'untidy' - definatly not the best word to describe such an excellent skin, but I cant think of another word to describe it.

I currently use 1.9 and have overwritten the TVSeries with version 1.7 - this way I get 1.9s alternative version of the Video screen (a List with synopsis) and the cleaner version of the TVSeries plugin with Fan art.

My website has picks of how I have it at the mo, and I will post pics of v2 when I can to clarify exactly what I mean.

Will do, although I'm rethinking the installer idea atm ;)

Not to sure about that one, peeps should have a look at the plugin forums too, I'm only creating the skin and trying to support as many requested plugins as humanly possible :p.

    TVSeries screens....
screenshots of your current probs/suggestions would help a bit here ;)

how about an mpi installer? this mpi stuff seems to be a nice way to hold skins etc up to date.

also it would be nice to have support for the myplanner plugin. this one works with google, myorganizer does not for me.

by the way, great job until now

...er....take your point on the TVSeries - thats not your plug-in - :sorry:

These are an example of the two versions of the Monochrome skin:

My Current setup Using MP 1.0 RC1, Monochrome 1.7, using Fan art, with Logos set up.

Version 1.8 onwards, with the 'glass sideboard' which stretches the info, spaces things out, and adds the synopsis to the left.

    lost_mono20.jpg

The first picture is mine, while the one above is not of my setup, but is pretty much identical, although in mine the Latest, ALL , Unwatched run over each other in a mass jumble (I think this picture is taken on a 720p set, while mine is 1080p) The difference between the two in my mind is massive, with the earlier version looking much crisper and contained, letting the fan art shine while having all the synopsis, episode picture and info neatly within the borders.

Dont get me wrong this is meant most definately as constructed critisim. Your work on this is supurb, and I would be showering you in beer (and the rest of the MP team) as I regale you with tales on how excellent you have made my system look. A big :D for all the hard work.....

Don't worry, constructive critism is always appreciated ;).
I have no idea what's going on in that second picture - Monochrome has never looked like that in TV Series .
Here are the only views that you should be able to see in v2.0...
That screenie looks like different xml and gfx files (something from spinsafe for example), which have never been included with Monochrome

er....I will test some more then...I am not the only one that this has happened to either.

    Cheers for the quick update...

Edit: Oh, and in the last pic, the synopsis info 'falls' from the top to land at the bottom, just in case that helps narrow things down.

If you use the TVSeries installer, then don't use the included skinfiles if you use a skin that already has these. (like Monochrome and Indigo).

Right, done some experimenting on a Fresh PC, one that has never had Media Portal etc installed.

    Windows XP, SP3 PC.

    Test 1

    Installed Media Portal RC1.
Installed TV Series MPi 1.3 - did not select a skin for it to use (it only showed the two base skins)
Copied files from TVSeries v2 (only a rar file, not an mpi like the earlier version)
    Installed Monochrome 2.0
After a dummy file and a fanart added, I launched Media Portal, and selecting TVSeries, the app failed (becuase I never chose a skin in the config.)

    Test 2

Reinstalled the TVSeries MPI, selecting monochrome, and then added the rar files from v2 update.
Opened TVSeries, and got the glass sideboard effect...

    Test 3

    Reinstalled monochrome 2 again
Opened TVSeries, and all looking fine.....

Looks like I will be installing Monochrome 2 tonight when I get home....:p
