Hey all, well as the post says yeah im very confused here on how the heck you configure this thing, so a run down.

1. All my media is located on my E:/ drive in seperate folders (movies, music etc)
2. I installed the lastest drivers patches etc as per what is recommended (this is a new build of Win 7 Ult)
3. Installed MediaPortal all good.
4. Installed StreamedMP..

Now...I have gone through most of the forum and tried to confirgure this thing, an yes I have read some handy posts but im still confused, as I have gone through the MediaPortal config and setup all the locations to point to my media eg. E:/Movies, Music, Pictures etc etc. all good right?..

then went on to configure the plugins which im assuming I do to point to the media as I said above.

I open up StreamedMP basic home editor and go through the tabs on the top which is all ok, I come to the basic home design tab where I configure the default option on the right, which im my case is ''Movies'' - using the movingpictures plugin, check the ''folder'' location and it looks correct. I hit the Generate Menu button an all looks good. Basichome.xml save successful.

now heres the thing, I go an open StreamedMP which opens fine but I only have the default option movies to select from which was my default in the editor?!?! If I try and click on anything thing else in the list it doesnt do anything?!?!?! just takes me back to the movies section where all my movies are?...soooo ummm what am I doin wrong here?!?!?

:sorry: for the long post too..:D

Can you post a zip of all your log files after doing the steps to reproduce your problem.

will certainly do that, but um where are they located? are they under the ''User Config Files'' under the mediaportal configuration app?

Also, while your at it. Get 'usermenuprofile.xml' which is in the 'User Config Files' folder.

According to your logs you last used Blue3Wide so its hard to know what your problem is.

Can you switch back to StreamedMP and Run MediaPortal in Debug Mode, you can do this by the Start Menu shortcuts in MediaPortal folder. Be sure to click 'Report a Bug to a Plugin Developer or Skin Designer'. After you finish your tests a zip files will be generated on desktop.

I also need to have your UserMenuProfile.xml located in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal, this tells me what you defined as your menu items for BasicHome.

Also im not entirely sure what your problem is that you are describing? Can you better describe it please? From what I understand you only see 'Movies' on the home screen, when you enter movies nothing happens...is that correct?

righto, so it seems I may have fixed this issue with mediaportal, re-install and a few other tweaks an it seems to be working ok....

so thanks for all your help...loving the support here..

also any chance you could recommend a good supported Tv tuner card, has to be dual card..

im thinking the NOVA-T 500 or HAUPPAUGE HVR2200, but im not sure if they are supported with mediaportal?

also thought about the LEADTEK 2300H/3200H....so many choices!

also need a remote that work with media portal too!!!..

Hi ctaylor80, glad you sorted your issue out!

I use the Hauppauge HVR-2200 card and have no problem, I live in Sydney and it picks up all the channels so I can recommend that one as had zero issues with it combined with MediaPortal + Win7.

For remote, I just got a MCE USB reciever combined with a harmony universal remote.
