I allways unregister the MPV decoder as i want to use cyberlink, Use Radlight to do that, it has a convenient "Unregister" button :), reboot and MPV is gone.

I also discovered that MP is now default set to use the VMR9 Settings, if you run under Vista or have .NET framework 3.x installed under XP, you should set it to Enhanced Video Renderer, works much better then VMR9.

you dont have to unregister MPV/MPA to be able to use an other codec.
since 1.0RC1 MPA/MPA are also installed with "normal" merit settings.

i have tested this localy and all settings for Movies / Television / DVD work as expected and MP uses the configured codecs.

the problem you have (just see the db corruptions in the first post), seem to be cause by using old MP files and/or miss configuration of Filter settings.

I'm seeing a similar issue with My Video sound. After the upgrade Video sound is dead. TV, Music OK. Then tried playing a DVD - no sound. Checked DVD settings - Nvidia codecs selected. Same settings in My Videos.
So in DVD changed Audio codecs to MPA - now works for playing DVD and without changing the My Video settings works for My Vidoes also. So it seems the MyVideo codec settings (for audio at least) have no effect - seems to look at the DVD settings.

attach logs for all these test cases please.

be aware that for *.ts files, "myVideos" will always use the codecs configured in "televison"

You stated Videos use the same codecs as Television. Are you sure this is correct as the TV codecs were set to Nvidia and the Cyberlink .264 and Monograms AAC for audio.
    TV was working OK
Video sound ONLY started working once I changed the DVD audio codec to MPA

I definitely had to change the DVD audio codec settings to MPA to get My Video audio to work. TV has been working OK using the Nvidia codecs
    I'v attached my logs

    Thanks

I just tried the TV section again after about 4-5 months and I still get this problem. It's a clean Vista x86 install with the latest ffdshow tryouts. Ffdshow work perfectly in any other player (it works for the movie section even).

Getting the same error as last time:

    2008-08-02 18:03:01.399759 [Info.][MPMain]: added filter:ffdshow Video Decoder to graph
    2008-08-02 18:03:01.401759 [Info.][MPMain]: failed:unable to add filter:ffdshow Video Decoder to graph
