The autodetection of black bars is really cool - but i'm using EVR - but i can patch MP Code - so is there perhaps a patch from you for evr also? Do i also need the smart stretch patch?

    Hi disaster.

Unfortunately, No. My plugin uses a function from MediaPortal itself to capture a frame of the current videostream. This function does not support evr right now.

All other functions of the ViewModeSwitcher can be uses perfectly even under evr.

OK - thanks for the answer => Do i also need the smart stretch patch? - or does your plugin do the stretching itself?

Is there an existing example ConfigFile or so?

The plugin itself does not change anything to the zoom modes itself. All it does is "switching" automatically to a zoom mode of your choice... based on rules you can define (like aspect ratio, height or width). (Without the plugin you have to select the zoom mode manually via the remote each time)

So with other words: Yes. If you want to use the smart stretch zoom mode, you need the patch that replaces one of the current modes with the "smart" one.

Could it be, that when ViewModeSwitcher is active and it has switched to view mode X - i'm not able to change the view mode / zoom mode?

    Hi.

No. The plugin does not prevent the change of the zoom mode. It only changes the mode if there is a change of the aspect ratio. You can change the mode at any time.

OK - is it possible to see the video resolution on screen? To look after each res change into the logs is really circumstantial (umständlich :) ).

Do you also know why i have often bars in zoom mode on the left and right (but more on the left).

    hi all!

i want to change to "zoom" mode, when black bars appear in a 4:3 broadcast (no 16/9). all other modes are changed automatically by MP (stretch, normal). i have one rule to do that:

    - enabled - CHECKED
    - aspect ratio: 1,33, to 1,34
    - min. width: 500
    - max width: 800
    - min. heigth: 500
    - max width: 800
    - "this rule switches to the following ...." - NOT checked
    - "this rule uses following ..." - NOT checked
    - "this rule enables the letterbox detection" - CHECKED

in logs it says "rule match" but it doesnt switch to "zoom" mode, it just stays in mode and do nothing. is there anything wrong in settigngs??

    thanks a lot!

    Hi.

@disaster: You can run MediaPortal in the windowed mode and use the freeware tool baretail to watch the log file "online" and use the highlight function of this tool to see the interesting lines.

spenca: Can you please export your complete settings? I will try to have a look.
