Went with RC1 to Vista because of my Amd 690g Motherboard. Its running well with one Problem.
After Standby I can't controll the Volume. It's at 100% on the Vol.Bar but have the Volume from befor Standby, also the Vol. Bar moves up/down with out any problem. After closing and restarting the Vol. is normal controllable.
I'am going with EVR and tried serval audio codecs.

Steps to reproduce.
1. Start Mediaportal
2. Try to Volume up/down (work)
3. Standby
4. Resume
5. Try Volumen up/down (won't work)
6. Close MP
7. Start MP
8. Try Volumen up/down (work)

Just tried above 6 times, could not repeat your problem, this is using the new default setting custom "wave"

Had a couple of problems getting my audigy card to play nicely with SP1, in the end a new unsupported by Creative driver fixed it.

    Thanks for you response.
I think I had downloaded the latest Realtek, will try again.

Mediaportal is set to custom Wave and tried also setting Realtek HDMI (Win defaul) in outputdevice Configuration
Maybe this is because of HDMI Sound, haven't thought about that ;)
Tomorrow I am going to get something for the normal output.

Ok downloaded the latest driver from Realtek for the 888 onboardcard ver. 1.90 and HDMI 1.89. Damn slow :(
But the problem is still there.
    Today I try other Outputs.

    EDIT: 24.04.2008
It looks like the Realtek HDMI Driver 1.89 cause the problem because the normal audiojack works as it should.
Now it would be interessting if other users with hardware like me have the same Problem.
Biostar TA-690g and Audio via HDMI combined with vista SP1.

    I hope someone does ;)

    Hi,

I had a similar problem, I downloaded microsoft devcon, a console based device manager and wrote a script that, every time the pc resumes, unloads the soundcard device and reloads it. If you set MP to restart on resume, MP restarts after the soundcard driver is unloaded and reloaded. I'm at work at the moment, If you want I can get more info when I get home.

    Regards,

    Regards,

I had thought about this kind of "Hack" too ;) . But thinking that Devcon is not needed because after restart of MP the HDMI Ssund works. It looks like MP just looses the control over HDMI after Standby.
At the moment it works real good, just switched the normal audio device as default.

Its not that bad, just have lost my remotecontroll from the Reciver and can't controll it from my sofa :D
