.vobs refuse to play (1 Viewer)

I received some new vob files that still gives the error

DVDPlayer:Unable to get dvdvolumeinfo 0x80040291

.
I will rename them to mpg in the mean time, but it would be nice if someone can find the problem.

You see, I know someone that is very anti-anything-on-MS-Windows. His linux htpc plays the vob files without problem. Of course he is giving me hassles on this one
Don't worry, I am giving him a lot of grieve on other major differences - like navigation. When viewing slideshow, his left/right arrows will change the photo orientation in stead of going previous/next. Can you believe

Anyway - like I said, this is not major, but it would be nice if fixed.

no, downloaded mediaportal 1 since i thought they must have fixed this by now... but no.
the MP team does a great job, but come on!!! .vob files are something nearly everyone has.
and no, i don't want to rename them to .mpg. i just want them to play as they are
pls pls pls, fix this!
