Volume is considerably lower during film playback (2 Viewers)

i already suggested that as the cause in my first post - but we've since established that the problem is not exhibited in VLC, only in mediaportal.

First, sorry not reading the whole thread - has been habbit for quite long time already since I have too much to do on my hands.

VLC could be using some dynamic range compression, who knows. MediaPortal itself shouldn't be responsible for the volume level at all, it is either the audio renderer or audio decoder that does affects it. Sample files would be good so others can confirm wirth directshow based players if it is really mastering "issue".
