Last week we had a topic where you tell the devs whats missing in MP
We got a lot of reactions and collected a nice list of most wanted features
In this poll you can select the most wanted feature
which then will be the 1st to be implemented!

Wow, a real hard choice if you can select only one! Wouldn´t a multiple choice with i.e. 10 points to give better? So you can give the most important feature more points, but also your next favourite will get points. You´ll then have a roadmap.

There are 4 choices concerning EPG. In parts they overlap. So maybe group the results? Applies to OSD and a few other as well.

Maybe run the poll till Saturday and make a new poll with the, say, top 5 on the wishlist. so everyone who had difficulties to choose one of the 20 options can vote on the top choices.

But, on the other hand, don´t make it too complicated.

Make it stable first! I almost overlooked that because it's at the end. As long as there are stabilty problems i can't put my HTPC to my living room. MyTV and DVD playback must be rock solid! Many of the features listed above are very nice, but what's the advantage of having a nice looking new OSD or remote support when there are crashes and playback bugs? Didn't notice any annoying bugs in the last releases in the core plugins beside MyTV and DVD playback.

SOL,
the problem with 'make it stable first'
is that many ppl dont report their problems/bugs
they just assume that its fixed in the next release

But reporting a bug is the first step to get it solved!

No because then the requested feature(s) become 2 big.
Lets just choose 1 feature, implement/create it and then when that one is done we open up a new poll so you can choose another one

Maybe run the poll till Saturday and make a new poll

The idea is to
- run this poll for a few days
- close it
- develop the requested feature
- remove the feature from the poll
- open it again
-.. and we start all over again

Why not dividing tasks

I think that developping features is as important as making MediaPortal stable.

You could have 2 teams : one for the debugging and optimisation of MediaPortal core and the other for the plugin dev.

lets stay realistic here, its very hard to find any programmers @ all
at the moment i still develop like 90% of all code

general : volume-control in both topbar & remote control

general : integrated support for remote controls instead of using girder

general : The ability to search for and download new skins from within MP

general : The ability to search for and download new plugins from within MP

general : auto-update, a Check when you open MP to see if you are running the latest version

general : client/server so you have 1 server recording tv and multiple frontends for watching tv/

home : The abiltiy to disable the core plugins (ie My TV My Videos etc)

home : Have a scrollable home menu (cause all plugins enabled wont fit anymore)
