I have this problem already a bit longer, but I did some more testing today and I think I'm ready to post now...

The PC goes into standby and resumes from standby correctly, but after coming back, MediaPortal's Television is stuttering a lot. It seems to be dropping a lot of frames. Initially I thought this to be TV Server or tuner related, so I tried different options there (re-initialize, etc) but those didn't work. Switching TV on/off in MP also does not help. No effect whatsoever.

Today I found out that also video playback stutters a bit (maybe a bit less) and audio goes out of sync. It's very annyoing.

There is one simple thing though that "fixes" it... And that's restarting MP. I'm not sure what changes it, but I'm convinced that it is not TV Server related and purely MP related (or the way Windows handles MP after resuming from standby).

I enabled the restarting option in MP Config (which was made for Nvidia - Which I don't have), to at least always have a good image. That is a "workaround", but has two major drawbacks:
- It takes quite some time to restart MP
- restarting this way does not seem to save your last menu. I have that option on, so every time I resume from standby, MP goes back to the menu/screen that I was in last time I had a regular exit of MP That's just a defect I guess

Has anyone experienced this before? Does anyone know how to fix this? I don't know what to try next...

I think I need to move this to MediaPortal 1 - Get Support, intead of TV-Server - Get Support

I'm almost 100% sure that the stuttering bug is DirectX and display driver related issue. MP timing code (used for drawing the GUI end video) is not affected the standby mode. I had that issue on every single Nvidia driver with Windows XP (8x.xx up to 1xx.xx) and it was simply cured when I moved from XP to Vista, with exactly the same HW.

for your info... I'll see if I can find either a newer DirectX build or a newer Catalyst version. Moving to Vista is not really an option, my system specs are too low, and I don't have a Vista license.

I really have no idea... But is there any way to reset DirectX or anything (I guess that what happens when you restart MP?).
