Hiho,

my wife and i are serienjunkies ;) but we have a little problem.

The most time we watch the new episodes together, but sometimes i look new episodes when she went to bed.

But then she don't know wich episode she havend't seen.

I set the episodes back at unwatched, but then i don't know wich one i doesn't see so far.

Does someone have a gut Tip for my problem?

Maybe a custom view?
Or a second watched flag?
Or 2 colours for watched?

is one of this possible?

thank you all for help :D

sry for english, have some problems with writing, but not with reading :D

my wife and i are serienjunkies ;) but we have a little problem.

Same problem for me, the way I solved it was with views.

I have a view for just me with my shows, view for just her, and an 'US' view.

Then I had a 'Watch Last (Me)' and a 'Watch Last (Her)' view, if one of us would watch an episode from the 'US' view by ourselves, that person would 'add' the series to the 'Watch Last' view of the other. If one of us would then watch alone, simply check that view first to make sure no entries exist, and if they do simply re-watch the last episode to 'catch' up. There was no need to toggle watched flag and mess up the progress of watched flags on the 'US' view, and once you watched that last episode, you simply removed the series from the view and everything was set proper again.

I kept up very well with that system, but she would 'forget' on occasion. So the solution now is that the 'Watch Last' views are gone and the 'US' view is PIN-Protected with only me knowing the code (the All-view is disabled on mine, otherwise don't forget to PIN-Protect that one as well).

If however you have multiple MediaPortal systems, you can use the Trakt system with seperate accounts to make it work a little bit more easier. On the bedroom system where you duplicate the database from the livingroom system, you can then run a different Trakt account (yours), which if a show gets watched should then reset that show back as unwatched. The only extra work you have to do then is when you watch a show together in the livingroom to walk to the bedroom system and manually toggle the watch flag, so that the Trakt info matches between the two seperate accounts. (PS: forgot to mention this does require a command-line SQLite tool that will allow you to make changes to the mp-tvseries database file to adjust the Trakt user info)

The real solution will be proper multi-user support, but that most likely will have to wait till MediaPortal v2. In the meantime you can also 'star' the following issue to keep aprised on progress of multi-user support within MP-TVSeries:

Issue 144 - mptvseries - Allow multiple Online Account IDs to be configured and used - MP-TVSeries: plug-in for organizing TV shows in MediaPortal - Google Project Hosting

As far as your color suggestion to mark difference between watched once, and watched twice+, that is a suggestion I opted for some time ago as well. The developers reply was unfortunatly that they are out of colors provided by MediaPortal to use, so this could not be implemented even if they wanted to.

Right now it is still semi-torture to make it work, but hopefully I've given you some ideas that might work for you as well. Otherwise you can look forward to more

    :D

fyi, there is no trakt user info in tvseries database. That is long gone and stored in it's own config file and can be changed from Trakt. GUI
