first of all, hi from a noob!

This post is my last resort - I've searched and searched for an answer for days now but cannot find one. I've installed the latest build of mediaportal on a fresh xp install. I have all the codecs, drivers and software I need. I've followed the webepg setup to the absolute letter at least a dozen times and I cannot, absolutely CANNOT figure out why my tv guide/epg will not populate - all I get is "no data available" on every channel and it's driving me insane. I'm using 2x winfast DTV1000T cards and the tv reception is perfect, after scanning it picks up all the channels but I just CANNOT populate the guide.

can anyone give me any help or advice at all?

thanks in advance

    Hi spaspecker,

Got some logs to look at? Try zip

    - the webepg.xml in the webepg folder
    - the grabber in the webepg/grabber folder (if you have modified it)
    - the tvguide.xml in the xmltv folder

and we got something to start with.

    /Peter

I had a similar issue with my TV guide on TV3.
I used XMLTV to get a TVGuide.xml and something went wrong. Only a couple of channels were imported and nothing would get the other channels to import.
I tried to refresh the database in the TV3 config, but then I was stuck with no channels. I knew the TV guide data was good, but MP wouldnt read it. In the end I opened the tvguide.xml and made a minor change to a program description, basically just to end up with a newer file date. As soon as I hit save all the data started importing correctly.

Also worth checking if you have the DTD file in the same directory as your guide XML.

Of course this is only a factor if you are using XMLTV. If you are relying on the EPG in the digitla stream then ignore this post ;-)

    Hi spaspecker,

I forgot... Please also include the wepepg.log file in the logs directory. And the content of the xmltv.zip file was only the xml.dtd, not the TVguide*.xml. Can you zip together these files and upload.

    me too :(

Also got the same problem myself.

I personally had created a WebEPG.xml file for 1 channel using the WebEPG_Conf app. I then modified the xml to include multiple similar copies of this 1 channel for other channels. That was fine after running WebEPG. The data was there

I then continuing adding more channels manually, with the help from the webEPG_Conf to get specific details.
Running WebEPG didn't show the new channels.

Time passed, and more and more runs finished with no result.

After searching in the forum, I found this thread, which I cleared all the programme details from withing the MP Config app.

Now, I can't get ANY of my Programme data to come through.

Note: I see that my TVGuide-writing.xml doesn't get removed after WebEPG is finished (which I thought I'd read that it's supposed to), and I notice that the timestamp of the temp file is newer than the final TVGuide. Without doing a proper diff, they appear visually the same.

Can supply the necessary files soon enough.
