When I try to access files (music/movies) on my WebMediaPortal it refers to a network share.
All music and movies are located at a NAS.

I've tried with mapped drives and with UNC paths.
Either way I get a warning message in logs that says I'm trying to access non-existing files.

When trying to access the file (using the path specified in the logs) both mapped drives and UNC paths works.

When copying music to local drive and updating database with the changes, it works fine.
What could this be?

Regards,

No I didn't.
The MP Server and the NAS are in a Homegroup (NAS is actually a dummy Win 7 Enterprise box), not using login. All users have access to the shares.
Is it still necessary to use login for WebMediaPortal to work?

This. The system account MPExtended runs as by default doesn't have access to *any* network shares at all.
