Hi,
Some of you have reported problems running WebMediaPortal on Windows 8. I've fixes ready for all those bugs, but I'd like to give it some testing before I release them. If you haven't got WebMediaPortal working on Windows 8 yet, it'd be highly appreciated if you can give this a try.
1. Install the MPExtended Service v0.5.3
2. Install IIS Express 7.5
3. Install THIS WebMediaPortal test build
4. Try to access http://localhost:8080/
5. Post here whether it works (I'd like reports both if it works and if it doesn't).
EDIT: It didn't work, but I hope to have found a different solution now. Expect a v0.5.4 this weekend.
(Note: this is all about the normal WebMediaPortal using IIS Express, not the IIS Edition. If you've problems with the IIS Edition on Windows 8, please wait until the upcoming v0.5.4 release next week).
