    Hi there,

Not sure if this is the right place, but I have just installed Gemx's Webservices plugin onto my test rig, but can not get the Webserver to start. I am getting the following message in the TV Server error.log file:

2010-01-22 22:22:54.760807 [10]: MPWebServices: Exception raised while trying to start webserver. Could not load file or assembly 'MiniWebServer, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

    The test rig also has:

    Moving Pictures (latest build)
    My TVSeries (Latest build)
    My Online Videos (Latest build)

The databases for My Pictures, Moving Pictures, My Music, etc are all present and Webservices is pointing at them.

The "missing" Miniwebserver DLL file is present in the following folders:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\Plugins
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\Plugins\MPWebServices\htdocs\bin

I searched the old plugin thread and found 5 other people who had this problem - but no answer was ever given (not that I found anyway). :(

    Many thanks,

    J.

    Re: Gemx's Webservices Plugin

Did you try the last version?

The were a problem with the build target so that it won't run on X64 PCs which you have

Same problem here on Win7 x64.
"Could not load file or assembly 'MiniWebServer"
And it doesn't look like it's caused by x64 OS, there're people who claim to have it working on Win7 x64 in original thread and there're people who reported same symptoms on 32-bit WinXP.

    Hi all,

Dont ask me how/why....but after two uninstalls and reinstalls of this plugin, it now works (well at least the Webserver starts!!!)

On to the next stage of trying to get streaming/content working :D

    Thanks,

    J.

MPWebServices: Exception raised while trying to start webserver

When posting errors and problems, it is beneficial to do the following:

    1)
Name your thread accordingly, ej: supply the error message, or the first sentence of it, such as,
"MPWebServices: Exception raised while trying to start webserver"
DON'T try and describe it in your own words, actually put part of the error message, this helps the forum
    have a cleaner structure

    2)
Assume we know 100% NOTHING, tell us exactly what you tried and what happened, using bullets such as 1) 2) 3)
helps you clarify your thoughts, and helps others in troubleshooting (this means include your version # using as well)

    3)
    an example..
    ej:
    1) I verified my ports are being forwarded
    2) I followed the installation guide, and my settings are: XXX
    3) I typed in http://192.168.0.1:8080 and XXX happened
    4) I went to my error log, and this is what happened
    5) Beyond that, please see my FULL attached mediaportal logs
    6) I am using version X of MPWebservices

    Cheers

The only thing I can think of in this case is to try:
    1) Make sure your port defined in MpWebservices within TV Server COnfig is forwarded
    2) If it is, try chaning your url from: http://COMPUTERNAME:PORT to http://LAN_IP_ADDRESS:PORT (your tv server's ip)
    3) If still not working, perhaps try a different port
