Perhaps this isn't the right place for this. If not, please let me know what is.
Each time I have significant changes in my channel lineup, I have problems with "orphaned" recordings. Why is it necessary to associate each recording with an existing channel? Why can't the recordings be named, stored or indexed in a way that preserves whatever source information is important, without requiring reassignment to an existing channel. In fact, I don't really care about the channel information at all, once the recording is made. Is there any chance of eliminating recordings' dependency on / mapping to an existing channel?
