    Hi Grisu,

you have to install the version matching your MediaPortal version. Please go to our google code download page (link on the first page of this thread) and get the version you need. Remove the dll you have now installed in MediaPortal/plugins/process before running setup!

AW: WifiRemote - a tcp remote control server 0.4.1 [2011-08-19]

    Hi
I installed the plugin and it seems to work perfect.

Some months ago I had a installation here on my HTPC to speak out the "now-playing" information using a modified plugin (don't remember which one, Text-to-Speech-features of windows and a self written programm to trigger the speaking using a hotkey).
But now with the WiFi-Remote plugin I'm planning to re-setup this system.
But I have one problem. I'm using the last.fm-plugin quite often. But In the "now-playing" data there is no valid title, interpret and album information. Is this a problem of last.fm? How can I obtain these informations using the Wifi-Remote plugin?
    Greetings

    Hi,

I have the same problem as JohnAnderson, Olli, Renfrja and Akay.
Only the first time I could get the configuration screen, after that only the error message as JohnAnderson posted screenshot.
His posted jit error.txt looks like mine.

Deinstalling the plugin, remove the wifiremote.dll and .xml and reinstall the plugin doesn't help.
Currently running the MP 1.20 final on Wndows 7 64 bit professional.

If you want more information i can give that.

    Hi,

we don't have a NowPlaying provider for last.fm, yet :-/
If you know C# and want to help out feel free to have a look at the source. Any help is very much appreciated. Also I can help get you started here or on IRC (hanging out in #mediaportal on irc.freenode.net).

Here you can see how now playing info for music is done, I guess last.fm should be similar:
NowPlayingMusic.cs - wifiremote - A MediaPortal plugin to send and receive remote commands via TCP/IP - Google Project Hosting

Anyone of you guys found a solution? I still have no idea why this happens.

Is there a way to request information about the highlighted movie/tv show instead of having to wait til its actually playing? (like the plot and thumb, etc)

    Hi Shukuyen,

Sorry to bother you. I know you're busy. I just have a quick question if I may.

Should it be possible to start playback of DVD movies ripped to folder (.ifo) and iso's using WifiRemote?

I don't mean highlightijg them in the MP UI and clicking play using the remote functions, I mean sending a command to start playback of a specific movie from a returned list? I can't get this working when selecting a movie from within aMPdroid and I'm trying to isolate the problem.

Oxan suggested I try using the demo client but I can't see how I can do that (probably my limited C# skills ).

    Thanks and all the best,

    Mick.
