The new installer also automatically installs dependencies (VC redist, DX9c,...). Some users reported installation issues, so in general we need as much feedback about the installation process as possible.

So, what method/approach have you chosen and where are you stuck. It's really hard to help you unless you tell us these things. :)

sorry, I am using mp2 and tries xmltv plugin but followed the instructions it says the tvguide.xml file is no good. I have seen the reference for the xmltv.dtd but never found it. tried mapping but nothing there. I am feeling real stupid. just got the TV tuners to work with the help of morpheus

Okay, if you're missing the xmltv.dtd file you should start by getting that from here:
    https://raw.githubusercontent.com/M...gine3/TVLibrary/TVServer.Base/xmltv/xmltv.dtd

Save that in the same folder as your tvguide.xml file, ensure that the XMLTV plugin is configured to look at that folder, then try to click import again.

If still having trouble after that, please post:
    1. A screenshot of the general tab of the XMLTV plugin.
    2. A zipped up copy of your tvguide.xml file.

I managed to get it and was able to grab the channels with webepg and xmltv but MP2 does not show the guide or the channel listings. I was up real late and am tired of messing with it. What next? What should I include for someone to figure this out????
    Thanks

    Hello again Thomas

I managed to get it and was able to grab the channels with webepg and xmltv
Well, that makes absolutely no sense to me. WebEPG and XMLTV are separate plugins. You'd generally use one or the other, not both. Therefore I suspect you have not actually been successful, despite what you've said... and that would be why MP2 is not showing anything

What should I include for someone to figure this out????
Almost anything would be better than what we have now... which is nothing... and that makes it essentially impossible to help you.

As above, I don't understand what you've been doing. Therefore I recommend you start by sending screenshots of every screen that you've used/configured in XMLTV and WebEPG.

I also recommend that you send log files:
    https://www.team-mediaportal.com/extensions/mp2-plugins/mediaportal-2-log-collector

Finally I recommend you zip and send your tvguide.xml as previously requested. That is, send it if you have one... or tell us if you don't.

One more thing: we're here to help you as best as we can, but ultimately we can't "figure this out" for you.

    Regards,
    mm
