Hia all,
So, decided to setup a new client instance and getting fed-up with the tonne of bloatware and cr*p that comes with Win10/11 these days decided to do it with Win-7. I have an old RTM licence for W7 Ultimate so installed that. Along with SP1, 2016 rollup (aka SP2) and .NET 4.7. All good.
Downloaded latest MP1 and installed (Note. The Offline downloader doesnt download the LAV filters, so install from downloaded stuff falls over as it cant find the LAV filters - not a huge issue as I would just install LAV afterwards - which I did).
Left the below in incase anyone wants a laugh. I didnt have the graphics drivers installed - standard out-the-box MS VGA. No wonder it crashed SharpDX was talking to stuff that wasn't there!!
However... I actually cant even run the MP1 Config. Comes up with a crash error;
Fair play if yoo's dont want to support W7 anymore; was really just me giving it a go (actually, I'm moving away from MS altogether now and going Linux/Debian route - MS stuff seems to be getting full of cr*p; but thats another whinge lol).
I may try some older MP versions to see if they work with W7, but thought I'd let yoo's know
Mat
