For some reason when i hit play on a movie when it plays the windows 7 taskbar can be seen on the bottom a simple alt tab fixes this but its annoying because i use a MCE remote. this never happend on vista or the previous releases only the new betas.

Same problem here, but not only while watching a movie in Moving Pictures but also sometimes in TV!

Would be great if there is a solution for this!

Unless this issue has to do with the external player for bluray playback functionality in Moving Pictures (which I suspect you guys would have mentioned if you were using), this sounds like a MediaPortal issue to me. Moving Pictures generally just passes a filename to the MediaPortal playback module, so this is something not really in our hands. Have you guys checked the Video or Bug Reports forums?

Try the following MediaPortal configutation options (under General)

    • Keep MediaPortal always on top
    • Hide taskbar in fullscreen mode
    • Disable tray area's balloon tips (for all applications)

PS: Windows 7 forces the taskbar to be visible when there are Action Center reports. This even prevents the Windows setting "auto-hide taskbar" to stop functioning. Do you perhaps have any open issues?

I disabled every Traypopup which is caused by mediaportal. This helps hiding the taskbar for the most activities (watching movies etc.). But sometimes, specially if I switch to a HD-Channel the bug occurs.

Thx for your hints, but i wont have Mediaportal "always on top", because i also like to be able to switch between different windows (for example Firefox and mediaportal).
in the near future I will try what happens if i activate the option "Disable tray area's balloon tips (for all applications)", maybe it helps.

You could still switch with the "always on top" setting enabled by minimizing MediaPortal instead of an ALT+TAB alike switch.

PS: Perhaps you have a codec or driver in use that kicks in a traybar icon? Would explain why it only occurs on HD channels. Run MediaPortal in windowed mode (so not full screen), so you can keep an eye as to what exactly is happening.

Seems to have resolved the problem on a few test trys. I dont use it as a dvr so thats not a issue for me. Seems like this was more fit for the General Mediaportal thread, sorry thought it was a Moving Pictures issue.

Side note - is the slow down in general from being on the beta media portal or the beta moving pictures? Dont know which since i upgraded os, app, and plugin all at once. The slow down im refering to is scrolling left/right in moving pictures and also page up/down to jump pages. It takes a lil lag to load all the covers when changing. Sometimes its slower then the other. Will compressing the covers help ease this? or is it just the way the plugin works? Loading covers only when called up thats causeing the issue. I dont think my pc specs are the issue

    Dual Core 2.8ghz
4GB Ram 3.50 avail 512 reserved for i assume video card.

Make a backup of your 'thumbs' folder and try my reduction script @ https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...age-size-thumbs-folder-movpic-tvseries-75750/

Right click the 'thumbs' folder for properties, so you can compare the "before" and "after" storage size. For me it went from 4GB+ to 650MB. My main goal was storage reduction, as I run on a small C: partition and was running out of space, but side effect for me was speed increase in usage.

Please post your results if they solve the problem. A lot has changed in MovingPictures v1.0.1:1001 compared to v0.7.5, so that naturally introduces delays as well due to extra compute time required for the new functions (especially filters if you setup complex ones).

Also one last thing, has anyone noticed a slow down with the new coreavc 2.0 ? it seems That since 2.0 it has a huge delay on playing videos. and actually cause a lag about 20 seconds in till it fixes. Reason i switched to 2.0 is on 1.9.5 newer mkv's show a bunch of corrupted frames and 2.0 fixes this, i assume its a codec change.

Have you tried comparing CoreAVC with MPC-HC? Even if you lack DXVA hardware you can still achieve some amazing results on a CPU with the latest revision. Even on this single-core PentiumM 1.7Ghz box I was able to play 720p without DXVA via the onboard Intel GMA, and some low bitrate 1080p videos as well. Of course adding a $30 HD4550 (amazing MIR rebate deal a year ago, which goes for $35 now) solved all my problems and I can play high bitrated 1080p content at 30% CPU load now. In my HTPC I've got a Sapphire HD4350, because I still require ComponentHD outputs on there.

MPC-HC does trail a tiny bit behind the faster-paced development of ffdshow-tryout (I prefer the clsid SVN builds, ICL10 and/or x64), but offers more stability in return.

PS: I meant the MPC-HC Standalone filters of course, but you can use the MPC-HC application to quickly verify results without having to install the codecs, as it uses the filters internally.
