I've been using Mediaportal for a while now and although it takes a while to get working properly it usually comes through with the goods in the end... until now.

My system runs on a Windows Server 2003 and I haven't had many problems until recently when for no explainable reason it starts to stream for a few seconds and then freezes on the client. In order to get it going all it takes is to turn the tv off then on again. Very frustrating when u have to do it every 5 seconds...
There was no explainable reason for this as I hadn't installed any new version or any software on the server.
I am now running the last stable version of Mediaportal 0.2.2.0 with TV engine SVN 14162 and it will work absolutely perfectly with no stops until i remote log into the server. After that, the only way to get the tv working again is to restart Windows server completely. It doesn't matter what type of computer I'm watching from nor does any newer version of mediaportal/server fix the problem. I have attached the log files.
Can anyone help me!?! This has been going on for a whole month or so now! Mediaportal is a fantastic program!!! When it works of course. :p

    Hello focus_17,

just to get the point, are you using the TV-server or just the client ? Why are you using MediaPortal 0.2.2.0 intead of 0.2.3.0 ?
I am also using Windows Server 2003 without any problems (finally :)).

Ive actually just found the cause of the problem. It seems that there was some type of conflict between Peer Guardian and Mediaportal. I have had Peer Guardian (firewall) on since first using Mediaportal and have never had any troubles, so the only explanation is that Peer Guardian automatically updated itself somehow as I or my brother have not touched it in months.
I'm guessing that Peer Guardian applied some restrictions on Mediaportal so it wasn't able to access the timeshift file correctly.

So all working good again now! :D

I was using 0.2.2.0 cos i was having no luck with any other versions and figured id go back to when it was working properly. Ill be going back to the latest again now as that seemed to work the best.

Thanks for trying to help out though level20peon! Much appreciated!
