    Hi rocklander

    Might get more attention and better responses by starting a new thread - just a little OT for a thread called "Winfast DTV 2000 DS". ;)
    Anyhow, I have no idea why NVidia would behave differently than ATI in this respect. I take it you've checked your codecs. Also, what version of the Catalyst drivers are you using?

    okay, I lied. I am not going to post logs.
    I've decided (after swapping the sapphire 6570 and the nvidia 210 in and out a few times that I get the best performance from the nvidia. this tells me that the way the nividia and the particular mobo with on x4 channels oin the pcie work together is different than the way that the sapphire does.
    on HD channels the CPU goes to 100% on the sapphire on that pcie slot and sits at ~20% on the nvidia.

    the issue with the nvidia is that when I change channels from HD to HD, it's fine.. SD to SD is fine, but SD to HD, or HD to SD and it hangs MP (not processor, MP) but I am giving up and buying a decent mobo with x16 PCIE and an i3 processor.. cos I am tired of chasing this dragon, and proper hardware (the i3+x16 pcie+sapphire) should make all this garbage go away.. it's my fault for pinching pennies in the first place..

    /cool story bro.

    Don't want to contradict you if you are really decided on the i3 + different mobo, but MP should not be hanging. I *would* like to see logs for that because that is *not* guaranteed to go away at all...

    ah, okay.. well since it's in my current config I can produce that PDQ...

    here ya go..
    started mp (1.20 + black glass skin, was doing the same thing on 1.1.3 + black glass skin. don't think skin change fixed, but don't remember if I tried).
    went to liveTV
    selected channel 3 (HD) ->happy
    changed to tv2 (HD) ->happy
    changed to U (SD) ->hang

    screen stays on the previous channel with still shot, and it has control of video. [ctrl]+[shift]+[esc] for task mangler opens TM, but it's in background screen and unavailable, so [ctrl]+[alt]+[del] requited to get to task mangler there and then I can get to 'applications' to end task (didn't use end process or end process tree in case it messed over the watchdog).

    should I grab all this and start a new thread still?

    cheers

    Okay, this looks like a serious problem. The TsReader logs show this:

    memorybuffer:put full buffer (12583592)

    ...repeated over and over again. I would *definitely* suggest you raise a bug -->here<-- and lets hope Owlsroost and miroslav22 have a chance to have a look. I'll also take a deeper look if I have a chance - it is just that their knowledge of TsReader is far superior to mine. Please remember to post the TV Server logs too when you start the thread...
