Hello, I have purchased the second analog TV card, the Hauppauge WinTV HVR 1110 and I have the same problem of Pinnacle PCTV 300i. After scanning the channel number 9 and finding 4/5 channels it scans rapidilly to the end and does not find anything more.
I cannot spend other money on video cards and now I suppose it is a problem with TV server analog channel scanning. Two cards and exactly the same problem is no more my problem.

it will happen with every analog card you buy!
Choose spain instead of italy and it will work flawlessly
at least it did for me!
for what I've read it's a problem related with xp and not mediaportal.
have fun

Actually I am upgrading to SP3 and I can't try but if it is real please add it to the know issues as I have purchased this board only for mediaportal.
Now I have a setup with a DVB-S and 2 analog - DVB-T boards. :-(
Have I told you I have in one folder another analog card which needs the soldering of a component and it will be my fourth board ?

I'm happy it worked for you too!
I have a pinnacle usb hybrid card and I got working only the dbvt part of the card. I mean that I can scan for channels on both digital and analog but as soon as I start MP the analog parts works for 5 seconds then stops. I can switch back to digital channels and everything work fine but the analog channels are not usable.
what drivers are you using for the pinnacle?
and what "mpeg2 video decoder" and "audio decoder" are you using for it? (you can find them in the "Television" page in mediaportal configuration)
thanks

I was too happy because it found the channels and then I leaved my house for work.

After your message I have opened mediaportal to discover it does not open any channel as it say "it is impossible to activate the TV Buffer no audio/video found" or something similar. :(

Tomorrow the fight with mediaportal will restart.

Have you any clue about which component could be missing ?

However when MediaPortal RC3 will be out I'll delete everyrthing, even the database, and restart from scratch.

EDIT: No, I have changed my mind. I will delete everything NOW !

RE-EDIT:

I was surprised I found RC3 in the download section of MediaPortal. I deleted everything and installed the new version.

Still the same problem: unable to activate TV Buffer, no Audio/Video found.

I have the same problem for both cards...

You asked me about the codecs. I have choosen Pinnacle MPEG2 codec despite the fact there are a lot more.

in mediaportal configuration chose the option not to turn on tv automatically when you open mytv
then launch mp and select mytv. now clic channels and select a channel on DVB. it should work fine. then click again channels and select a channel on analogue. it should start (sometimes yes and sometimes not) and show up for a couple of seconds. if it doesn't try again to open a dvbt channel then an analog. it usually works with mine, but always for no more than 5 seconds.
at least this is my problem.
if you choose mpv decoder and mpa decoder you can get a couple of seconds more of life on analogue channels ;-)

Hello, i have exactly the same problem on my HTPC running MP v. 1.0.2: when i try to access myTV, i get the message: "unable to activate TV buffer, no video card available"...
My computer is a SP3 XP Home edition Athlon 64XP dual core 6000+ machine and my TV card is a Terratec HT PCI DVB-T/analog tuner.
Did anyone find any solution for this problem? PLEASE help me, as Mediaportal is totally useless for me as long as this error prevents me from using TV server!
Thanks
