For now I gave up and let my Auzentech card do a live DTS encoding of all movies instead.

I hope I am posting this in the right area, maybe it should be a new thread?

My problem is along similar lines in that I want to use AC3filter as its the only way I have found to get ANY input to be converted to 5.1 surround via SPDIF.

With .avi files that have mp3 stereo soundtracks I can get various audio decoders to be used (DScaler, FFDSHOW, MP3 Decoder) but none of the outputs from these are sent to AC3Filter.
AC3Filter is shown in graphedit but it is not used (shown as an unconnected grey block) ?

When graphedit plays the avi then the same blocks are shown but this time AC3Filter is used.

Any ideas ?

First of all thank you for replying any help is gratefully received.

AC3Filter is set as post processor and checked. (If it is not then it does not show at all in graph edit).

which I had read in this thread should have the problem sorted.

I still have the problem with MP3 avi's, although to be fair I have not tried a WM file.
