I know a lot of others have this issue as well, so I would like to encourage all to post your experiences in this thread as well so we can get this fixed once and for all.
Bascially, when playing WMV movies with 5.1 audio, the audio comes out as 2 channel. It's supposed to be feeded through AC3Filter for a transcode, but this doesn't happen. When playing the same file in WMP everything works perfectly.
The AC3Filter tray icon (if enabled) doesn't even show up when the movie is being played in MP.
I believe someone managed to manually edit a GraphEdit graph to get it working, but I'm not sure if anybody else managed that.
GSpot reports the following audio information:
0x0162 (Windows Media Audio 9 Professional) CBR
0x01:48000Hz 440 kb/s tot (6 chnls)
Attached my MP log.
