I had the same problem with my set up. It was only 1 hour off for me.

To fix this problem you can do the following from section 12.4 of the WorldWeather for MediaPortal.pdf on page 1 of this thread.

Step 1: close the configuration dialog
Step 2: open the profile file “worldweather.xml” (normally c:\programdata\team mediaportal\mediaportal) using a text editor
Step 3: navigate to the affected profile and Insert the line
0

Step 4:replace the value of 0 with the appropriate number of minutes (positive and negative values allowed) to adjust the sunrise/sunset time
Step 5: save the profile file “worldweather.xml”

Thankyou for you help with this:)

After I added the the line my sunrise/sunset times are correct but the background images and icons still show nighttime.

Any ideas?

Regards

Glen

I have the same problem with the sunrise/sunset time. The new version of WorldWeather shows sunrise at 11PM, sunset at 1PM here in New York City. There is certainly something wrong with the new version of this plugin. I just went back to version 1.2.1 and it works fine now.

I'm using StreamedMP so not sure how to roll back.

I try to do it through the extension installer and it doesn't change.

    Hi @2.0, @Remoteglen, @pmwolf,
currently I'm a little bit lost regarding the differences of astronomical calculations on your home location.
I've invistigate countless hours to refine the calculation routines, comparing the result with internet sources and fix problems for winter and summer time. I'm not sure, why you get other results. To fix the issues in the near future, it's very important to have your WorldWeather profile (see c:\programdata\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\WorldWeather.xml) and more information, which values are not correct. Also, please check the configuration after each Windows Update carefully! One of the last Microsoft patches contains a fix/enhancement to support new timezones. Such a fix can end in incorrect assignments and settings like UTC timezone delta and/or daylight saving time support.
As an example, please find attached the screen outputs of my astronomy test tool, please inform me if you get other results for this locations. If it's helpful, I can upload the test tool here.

    Cheers, Micropolis

I made a profile for New York and I am getting slightly different data, the timezone ID is set to 86 and not 87. Please see the attached xml file, under

is for my home town of Helena, MT

The testing tool would be great to have

I am also having the same problem as Remoteglen with the images being off. I generated a new WorldWeather.xml file and my time was off by 16 hours and when I fixed it with
0
line the images still are set to the night time images. This is the file I have attached.

    Hi @pmwolf,
    thanks for your support.
I'll try to check the problems as soon as I'm back at home and prepare the test tool for public use. Short question: Do you have installed all updates from last Microsoft patch day? If not, this could be the root cause of different timezone ID.

Attached you can find the results from the test tool and from www.timeanddate.com. For me, it looks ok. Maybe I'm wrong?

    Cheers, Micropolis

    Those attachments look correct.

I have all updates installed, for some reason version 1.2.2 has the time off by 16 hours, while version 1.2.1 does not

Let me know if you need any more info
